Female NASCAR driver reveals 'disturbing' death threats and sexual harassment after part in horror crash
A female NASCAR driver has revealed that she's been threatened and harassed online following a crash in North Carolina over the weekend. Katherine Legge was driving the No. 53 car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series - the feeder series to the top-flight NASCAR Cup Series - during a race at Rockingham Speedway. The British driver appeared to come out of a corner slower than expected and was bumped from behind by the No. 18 car of William Sawalich. Legge, who has started four times in the Indianapolis 500, also made some contact with the front right quarter panel of the No. 33 machine driven by Kasey Kahne. After this crash, Legge revealed on her Throttle Therapy podcast that she's been receiving multiple harassing messages - including death threats - in the wake of the incident. While she hasn't seen the comments, she says they have been relayed to her. 'I keep coming to you all with this drama that I hate. It hasn't been that way in the past, so this is a new phenomenon for me,' she started. Trouble for Katherine Legge! Kasey Kahne also involved! — Rubbin is Racing (@rubbinisracing) April 19, 2025 'Being a woman racing in NASCAR, it comes with an incredible sense of pride. It comes with a level of scrutiny and harassment. 'The hate mail, the death threats and the inappropriate sexual comments that I have received on just disturbing. They're unacceptable.' She continued: 'Let me be very clear: I am here to race. I'm here to compete. I won't tolerate any of these threats to my safety, or to my dignity, whether that's on track or off of that. 'Racing is a passionate sport, and I understand fans have strong opinions. I love that and I respect that about our sport. Constructive criticism is part of the game, and I'm always open to listening and improving. I will always take accountability for the mistakes that I make. 'However, what I think people need to understand is that there's a line between feedback and personal attacks, and it's really disappointing to see how often that line gets crossed.' Describing the incident with Sawalich, Legge said, 'I stayed on my line and kept doing my speed.' She added, 'He charged into the corner a bit too hard, which is the speed difference that you see, and he lifted up a lane into me.' Legge has raced in the Cup Series this season, making her debut at Phoenix last month. She's competed in two previous Xfinity Series seasons. The Rockingham start was her first Xfinity race since July 2023.

Kasey Kahne provides big update on future in NASCAR after Rockingham
Kasey Kahne provides big update on future in NASCAR after Rockingham Kasey Kahne is making his long-awaited return to NASCAR this weekend. On Saturday, Kahne will drive the No. 33 car for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway. It will mark the 45-year-old driver's first event in the sport since he left before the end of the 2018 Cup Series season. Kahne hasn't competed in NASCAR for almost six years; however, could Rockingham be the first of many races that he runs in the future? recently interviewed Kahne ahead of Rockingham, and he didn't close the door on coming back for more events. "This has been a lot of fun to prepare and work on this one particular race,' Kahne told 'I think a lot of that goes to [Richard Childress Racing], the No. 33 team, Andy Street and that whole group. The timing of it has been perfect. I've really enjoyed it. I want to put together the best effort that we possibly can and look at it after that and decide if there's another one that we would like to do or something like that. Putting it all into Rockingham right now. The situation that I'm in is very good. Really enjoying the whole process.' Kahne isn't closing the door for more NASCAR races if his return goes well at Rockingham this weekend. Sure, it may not be a full grind in the Cup Series, but even one to two starts is great for the sport. There will be many eyes on Kahne at Rockingham, and it could either be his true last start or the first of more moving forward. 'I'm excited to compete in the No. 33 United Rentals Chevrolet again this year,' Hill said in a statement. 'United Rentals has been a longtime supporter of my career and to continue that relationship once again at the top level of our sport is special. I've enjoyed my starts in the Cup Series so far and the goal is to keep learning every time I climb into the car. 'We have been strategic with adding new tracks to the lineup each season, which allows me to gain valuable experience. Racing for Richard at any level is an honor, but especially in the Cup Series. United Rentals will sponsor all five races in the third part-time effort for RCR. Hill will also compete at the Chicago Street Course, Daytona, Bristol, and Talladega. 'United Rentals is not only a long-time supporter of Austin, but of our sport,' said Mike Verlander, president of RCR. 'They have consistently and strategically used their partnerships to showcase their position as a leader in the equipment rental industry. We are proud to represent their brand once again this season and to have Austin back in the No. 33 Chevrolet. Our Xfinity Series program is designed to develop talent among drivers and crew members, and we are showcasing that progress.' Hill started the Xfinity Series season with a victory in the second race of the year at Atlanta, and he has top fives in four of the first six races.

Lauren Betts has UCLA women dreaming of their own NCAA history
LOS ANGELES — John Wooden's name graces the hardwood, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's No. 33 jersey is pinned to the wall, and a record 11 NCAA championship banners hang in the Pauley Pavilion rafters. Greatness remains an immersive experience in Westwood, even if the most illustrious dynasty in men's college basketball ended a half-century ago, and even if it's been 30 years since UCLA captured its only championship of the post-Wooden era.
