Lisa Kudrow said ‘No Thanks' to the White Lotus? 'I might not be his cup of tea,' explains the actress
Parker Posey pitched White Lotus to Lisa Kudrow, but the Friends alum isn't too keen to join the show. Among the many recognisable TV stars are the two most famous actresses, Parker Posey and Lisa Kudrow. In a recent interview with Variety, the two talked about the sharp social satire, 'The White Lotus,' and '1994 'sitcom Friends, in which Lisa starred as the quirky Phoebe Buffay. While conversing with the No Good Deed star, Posey suggested that she should star in the upcoming season 4 of the 'White Lotus' series. Although Lisa expressed her desire to collaborate with Mike White, she believes that she would not be the creator's cup of tea. The Comeback star also commended White, saying she thought some of his projects were fantastic. 'Would you enter the White Lotus world?' the You've Got Mail actress continued to press Kudrow during their conversation. In response, the sitcom star went on to say, 'Work with Mike White? Yes. I love Mike White. I've hung out with him at a party.' Additionally, Kudrow mentioned that she emailed White to let him know how much she liked Brad's Status. She continued saying that 'The White Lotus' showrunner is quite outgoing. Posey yet again pitched to the actress. She said, 'Oh, Lisa, you should be in Season 4. If there's a big enough TikTok campaign, then it'll happen.' To which she replied, 'And I might not be his cup of tea, which is allowed to happen too. But I do get nervous about inhabiting things that are too dark; I try to avoid that. But you didn't really have to, except for the scenes where your head's blown off. But it's pretend.' Lisa Kudrow rose to fame after ten years of playing the witty Phoebe Buffay on the NBC comedy Friends, alongside famous actors like Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and the late Matthew Perry. As for Posey, the actress played Jack's rival in a number of Will & Grace episodes. In addition, the actress played Victoria Ratliff in the series' debut season.

Lisa Kudrow gets real about playing Phoebe on Friends, reveals Matt Leblanc's advice: ‘It was a lot of work'
To millions, the show Friends is a warm blanket of comfort — the show defined a generation and continues to win over younger audiences with every new watch. But behind the laughs was a surprising amount of work, especially for Lisa Kudrow, who brought to life the unforgettable, free-spirited Phoebe Buffay. In a recent conversation with fellow actor Parker Posey, Kudrow opened up about how playing the eccentric masseuse-musician wasn't as effortless as it looked. The two actors first met while working on Clockwatchers, a 1997 indie film about temps navigating office ennui. At the time, Posey was the reigning queen of indie cinema, while Kudrow was already a household name thanks to Friends. Posey, curious about the mechanics of sitcom acting, asked Kudrow if the rapid-fire rhythm of Friends ever felt like playing a sport. 'It became fun,' Kudrow replied, candidly. 'It was fun the whole time because the cast had fun. Phoebe was so far from who I was as a human being, it was work — I needed to justify everything she was saying in my head so that it felt like she meant it and it was real to her. It was a lot of work.' She also recalled an important moment of self-doubt early on in the show's run. 'I remember Season 2 or 3, I went, 'Oh my God, I'm not doing the work.' And LeBlanc went, 'What's the matter with you? You're her. You don't have to.'' While Kudrow may have mastered the art of making Phoebe's quirks look effortless, her journey to inhabit the role was anything but. That sense of commitment continues to shape her current performances, like her recent turn in No Good Deed, where she plays Lydia Morgan, a grieving mother who believes her son is trying to reach her from beyond through flickering lights.

The 14 Biggest Easter Eggs In The 'Wicked: For Good' Trailer
Just when the world stopped holding space for Wicked, the frenzy is about to kick back up again. The first trailer for the movie musical sequel, Wicked: For Good, was released last night, giving us our first glimpse of Elphaba and Glinda after that infamous 'AhhAAAHAAAAAHH!' at the end of 'Defying Gravity.' As we see in the footage, the former best friends' relationship has completely changed. Elphaba is public enemy number one, Glinda is walking down the aisle to marry Fiyero, and now a girl named Dorothy is in the picture. Fans of the Broadway musical know how this story ends, and they're probably already familiar with some of the tunes that appear in the trailer, like 'No Good Deed' and, of course, 'For Good.' Let's break down some key details and takeaways from the trailer. Elphaba is in the forest chanting the spell, 'Eleka nahmen nahmen, ah tum ah tum, eleka nahmen' from the beginning of 'No Good Deed.' Madame Morrible makes the infamous twister, which eventually crushes the 'Wicked Witch of the East' and brings Dorothy to Oz. Fiyero is now the captain of the guard. The bricks of the yellow brick road make an appearance. Elphaba finds the brochure to Emerald City that Glinda signed for her in the first film. Glinda rests her head on Elphaba's shoulder—this scene appears in Wicked: Part One as a flashback. Glinda appears to be wearing a wedding dress, walking down the aisle with Fiyero. This is a scene that didn't appear in the original Broadway production. When asked about it, director Jon M. Chu explained to Vanity Fair, 'It's life or death for all of them, so a wedding seemed appropriate.' He added of the love triangle between Glinda, Fiyero, and Elphaba, 'It's harder to forgive certain things in certain scenarios. It makes it more complicated.' Someone is wearing those magical jeweled shoes that belonged to Elphaba and Nessarose's mother. Dorothy and Toto are spotted being led out of Munchkinland. Chu explains how introducing the iconic character affects Glinda and Elphaba's journeys. 'We tread lightly, but try to make more sense of how it impacts our girls and our characters than maybe the show does,' he told Vanity Fair. Dorothy, the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow face the Wizard of Oz, who orders them to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West. Close-up of the Cowardly Lion! Glinda steps into her bubble—is that the same look she wore at the beginning of Part One? Here are Glinda and Elphaba in the room where the bucket of water. Elphaba tells Glinda, 'I'm off to see the Wizard,' referencing the song 'We're Off to See the Wizard' that Judy Garland sings in The Wizard of Oz. Come release day on November 21, we'll be saying that too. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. The Friends alum, 61, sat down with Parker Posey for the June 6 episode of Variety's Actors on Actors series, where they reflected on their careers and opened up about recent projects. As they talked about Posey's fan-favorite role on season 3 of The White Lotus, she questioned if Kudrow would join the next installment of the iconic series. 'Work with Mike White?' Kudrow replied, naming the show's creator. 'Yes. That's a quick answer. I love Mike White.' Although her interactions with White have been limited to hanging out with him at a party, Kudrow revealed that she is also a big fan of his work. 'Brad's Status was my favorite movie of that year,' she said of the 2017 comedy, which White wrote, directed and acted in. 'I emailed him to let him know because I had to. It was so good, I had to, and I don't do that a lot.' 'Lisa, you should be in season 4 [of The White Lotus],' Posey, 56, chimed in. 'You need to be a part.' When Posey highlighted White's unpredictable storylines, the No Good Deed star admitted that she 'might not be his cup of tea.' 'Which is allowed to happen,' she noted. 'But no, I'm a huge Mike White fan.' 'I know you're his cup of tea,' Posey interjected. 'I'm going to text him after this to ensure that you know that you are!' Still, Kudrow had some hesitation about how she would fit into the series. 'I do get nervous about inhabiting things that are too dark,' she confessed. 'I try to avoid that.'
