Jason Momoa among 4 Actors in Talks to Star in Street Fighter Movie
The Street Fighter movie may have lost Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou , but they got a new director at the helm with Kitao Sakurai ( Bad Trip ). Now it looks like things are moving forward, and we have four actors being considered for what we assume are lead roles. According to Deadline, actors currently in talks to star in Street Fighter include Andrew Koji ( Bullet Train ), Noah Centineo ( Black Adam ), Roman Reigns (WWE), and Jason Momoa ( Aquaman ). Word has it that Koji and Centineo are being eyed to play Ryu and Ken; Reigns is in talks to play Akuma; and Momoa is being considered for the part of Blanka. Jason Momoa is in talks to play BLANKA in the live-action 'STREET FIGHTER' movie He joins Andrew Koji (Ryu) and Noah Centineo (Ken), with #WWE's Roman Reigns is negotiating to play Akuma. The film is being directed by Bad Trip and Twisted Metal's Kitao Sakurai. — Mullti-Fandom Hype (@MulltiFanHype) May 22, 2025 We don't have any details about the story yet, but at best we're going to get a movie where we have a bunch of colorful characters fighting each other. I'll admit, Mortal Kombat could have done better tone-wise, but maybe Street Fighter can learn what not to do from MK 's example. Admittedly, Street Fighter has been having a hard time getting back on the big screen. 2009's The Legend of Chun-Li was a major disappointment; but the live-action Assassin's Fist did get some positive buzz when it came out online. Personally, the 1994 movie featuring Raul Julia is still a favorite of mine (and should be watched by any self-proclaimed cinephile): The new Street Fighter movie still has no release date, but with all these years in development, hopefully it comes out sometime next year.

Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Roman Reigns Eyed for Legendary's "Street Fighter"
Yara Sameh Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), Noah Centineo (Warfare), Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), and Roman Reigns (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw) are in negotiations to star in Legendary's live-action Street Fighter movie, based on the Capcom video games. In February, Bad Trip's Kitao Sakurai boarded as director, inheriting the project from Talk To Me's Danny & Michael Philippou, who attached themselves in April of 2023, following Legendary's acquisition of exclusive film and TV rights to the Street Fighter IP. The film adaptation is being co-developed and co-produced alongside Capcom, the developer and publisher of the video games. No word has emerged yet on who has written and who specifically will produce the actioner. Coming off of Warner Bros and Legendary's phenomenon "A Minecraft Movie", which is approaching $1B at the global box office, Momoa will next be seen starring in Apple's miniseries "Chief of War", out August 1, and Legendary's live action/animated road trip adventure "Animal Friends", out October 10. Other upcoming projects include "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" (where he plays Lobo), "Dune: Messiah" (where he reprises as Duncan Idaho), and action comedy "The Wrecking Crew" opposite Dave Bautista, to name just a few. Netflix cancels four shows - and one is axed just before its final season
Netflix has confirmed that four of its shows will be coming to an end, including The Recruit, Territory, The Sandman and The Empress, which all failed to land final seasons Ahead of the 2025–2026 TV production season, Netflix has left audiences gutted by confirming the axing of four of their series, including beloved and critically acclaimed dramas. Two shows won't even get the chance to bid farewell to their fans, after being cut with immediate effect. One of these, The Sandman, is rumoured to have been axed after allegations of sexual assault were raised against its creator Neil Gaiman. The most surprising axe has fallen on The Recruit, a high-octane spy thriller introduced in 2022 which quickly won over fans. Featuring Noah Centineo as a greenhorn CIA lawyer plunged into a complex world of global espionage, the show was lauded for its shrewd take on the American intelligence community. Despite bagging an impressive 80 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it's been discontinued after just two seasons. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, lead actor Centineo reflected on the cut saying: "It is what it is. Netflix, they have a certain mandate that they need to fill, and I'm very proud of the show, very grateful to our audience. We have a pretty strong cult following. And with Netflix, it just didn't really fit what it was that they needed, I suppose. And so onto the next, I guess." Netflix's latest string of terminations also includes Territory, an Aussie neo-Western drama exploring the power struggles within a wealthy family ruling the remote Outback, reports the Mirror. The six-part saga of the Lawsons and their battle to maintain control over their billion-dollar cattle empire while facing opposition from rival ranchers, corporate miners, and Indigenous land claims has met a disappointing end; Netflix has cancelled the show after just one season, leaving a trail of unresolved mysteries for its viewers. The realm of dreams will also be closing its doors with The Sandman's impending second season, which has now been confirmed as the final journey through Neil Gaiman's celebrated 1989–1996 comic book universe. As we follow Morpheus on his quest to rebalance the fantastical domain he presides over, it's clear the series, showcasing stellar performances from Tom Sturridge, captured the hearts of many, yet Netflix has chosen to wrap up this spellbinding narrative after its forthcoming chapter. Amidst the backdrop of these show cancellations, Neil Gaiman has come under fire following sexual assault allegations. A disappointed fan expressed their outrage on social media by saying: "F--k you, Neil Gaiman. "You make one of the most enjoyable pieces of fiction I've ever experienced, let me fall in love with the universe, characters, events, everything about it, and then go and do some heinous shit." They continued: "All the while leaving breadcrumbs within your own stories that we all probably could have seen coming. I've felt every emotion reading, watching, and listening to Sandman. I loved it." Completing the list is The Empress, a German historical drama centred on the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. The series took the world by storm when it first aired in 2022, quickly becoming Netflix's second-most watched series globally for a fortnight and ending the year as the seventh most popular non-English language series. Despite its success, Netflix has confirmed that the upcoming third season will be the last, with no plans to extend the story beyond that.

Brutal Netflix cull as four shows cancelled - and one axed just before its final season
Netflix has announced that four of their original series, ranging from historical drama to fantasy, will not be renewed for another season. Ahead of the 2025–2026 television season, Netflix has confirmed the cancellation of four shows, leaving viewers devastated. The streamer's latest wave of cuts includes fan favourites and internationally acclaimed dramas, with two of the four shows failing to land final seasons. Among the most shocking cancellations is fast-paced spy adventure series The Recruit, which premiered in 2022 and quickly earned a dedicated following. Noah Centineo played a rookie CIA lawyer thrown into the murky world of international espionage on the show, which was praised for its satirical look at the US intelligence agency. The Recruit even scored a strong 80 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but has been axed after just two seasons. Main star Centineo shared his thoughts on the decision with the Hollywood Reporter, saying: "It is what it is. Netflix, they have a certain mandate that they need to fill, and I'm very proud of the show, very grateful to our audience. We have a pretty strong cult following. And with Netflix, it just didn't really fit what it was that they needed, I suppose. And so onto the next, I guess." Another casualty of this round of cuts is Territory, an Australian neo-Western drama that centred around the power dynamics of a rich family in the Outback. The six-part series followed the Lawsons as they fought to hold onto their billion-dollar cattle empire while dealing with threats from rival ranchers, corporate miners, and Indigenous land claims. Netflix has pulled the plug after just one season, leaving fans with unanswered questions. Fantasy drama The Sandman is also coming to an end, with its upcoming second season now confirmed to be its last. The show was based on Neil Gaiman's 1989–1996 comic series. Its storyline followed Morpheus, the personification of dreams, as he escaped captivity and tried to restore balance to his mystical realm. Despite strong performances from Tom Sturridge and an enthusiastic fanbase, Netflix has decided not to continue the adaptation beyond its second chapter. Neil Gaiman has been blamed for this decision as he recently came under scrutiny for sexual assault allegations. One fan took to social media to blast the author, writing: "F--k you, Neil Gaiman. You make one of the most enjoyable pieces of fiction I've ever experienced, let me fall in love with the universe, characters, events, everything about it, and then go and do some heinous shit. "All the while leaving breadcrumbs within your own stories that we all probably could have seen coming. I've felt every emotion reading, watching, and listening to Sandman. I loved it." Rounding out the list is The Empress, the German historical drama based on the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. The show enjoyed a period of extreme popularity when it was first released in 2022, as it became Netflix's second-most watched series globally for two weeks and finished as the seventh most popular non-English language series that year. While The Empress has secured a third and final season, Netflix has confirmed that there will be no continuation to the story beyond that.

Noah Centineo sparks concern with dramatic new look at 'Warfare' premiere
Actor Noah Centineo shocked fans with his unrecognizable appearance at the Warfare premiere in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old To All the Boys I've Loved Before star, who has been open about his sobriety journey, appeared noticeably different with dark circles under his eyes, pale skin, and a bushy beard. His once clean-cut image was replaced by chapped lips and messy hair, sparking concern among fans. Centineo, who plays Brian in Warfare, posed alongside co-stars Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Michael Gandolfini, and Joseph Quinn. The action-packed film, set to release on April 11, follows a platoon of Navy SEALs on a dangerous mission in Iraq. His appearance comes shortly after he spoke about his past struggles with alcohol and drug use. In a recent interview, he admitted to using substances heavily in his early 20s before choosing sobriety at 21. However, he briefly relapsed in 2021 before quitting again, saying, 'I needed to take inventory and get back to myself.' Adding to the buzz, Centineo has been linked to actress Zoë Kravitz, following multiple public outings together. Their rumored romance has fueled speculation, especially after Kravitz's split from Channing Tatum. Despite fan concerns over his new look, Centineo remains focused on his acting career and upcoming projects, including Netflix's The Recruit.
