You don't pass up on a prospect like him, one who's the No. 76 overall player, and Notre Dame should keep up its recruitment of Barney. I want to thank God for all the blessings he has poured upon me. I want to thank my family and friends for all the support and love you have given me. It has been a long and difficult process, but after prayers and discussions with my family, I'm home. 🏠 @FoundersEdits — Simote Katoanga (@Motekatoanga) February 23, 2025 This one hurts on two levels, as the 6-foot, 5-inch and 240-pound star opted to stay home and play for the rival USC Trojans. Notre Dame football commit dominates Under Armour Next camp en route to MVP honors
Notre Dame football found its 2026 quarterback early in Florida's Noah Grubbs, and it looks like the Irish did a great job in identifying how talented 6-foot, 4-inch and 188-pound gunslinger is. On Sunday, it was once again backed up that Notre Dame has a commitment from one of the best signal callers in the country, as he won the positional MVP honors at Orlando's Under Armour Next camp. Plenty of people knew about Grubbs, as he was a player that the camp highlighted before the event even started. He didn't disappoint, taking home the award in what could be a very big summer for the Irish commit. Grubbs is currently ranked as the nation's No. 161 overall prospect, the No. 12 quarterback according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He debuted higher than what he is currently ranked, but if he continues to play the way he did this past weekend, Grubbs could be making a move North in the rankings. Hard work pays off & @NoahGrubbsQB came ready to work. Congratulations on the MVP Award 🏆#UANext — All-America Game (@UANextFootball) February 24, 2025 This article originally appeared on Fighting Irish Wire: Noah Grubbs notre dame football under Armour next MVP quarterback 2026
