Steelers veteran guard added to Non-Football Injury list to start training camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed veteran LG Isaac Seumalo on the Active/NFI (Non-Football Injury) List to start training camp. As the Steelers reported to Saint Vincent College, HC Mike Tomlin stated that Seumalo was placed on the NFI List with a soft-tissue injury — but expressed confidence that backup guard Spencer Anderson can step up if needed. "I don't have a specific timeline for Isaac, as I sit here today," Tomlin told reporters during Wednesday's press conference. "Because I haven't had intimate meetings with the medical staff — just in terms of the declaration. But certainly, I'm more comfortable with Spence. Isaac didn't get a lot of work in the spring, and Spence did. And Spence has played a lot of ball for us here in recent years, particularly at that position group." Seumalo, one of the most underrated Steelers signings in 2023, delivered a career performance last season — earning his first Pro Bowl selection for his efforts. He did, however, miss the first four weeks of the Steelers' 2024 regular season with a pectoral injury — and it's safe to say Pittsburgh isn't going to take any chances with him at training camp. Seahawks place NT Johnathan Hankins on the Non-Football Injury list to start training camp
The Seattle Seahawks kicked off their 2025 training camp on Wednesday. Rejoice, 12's, as the Seahawks are back and the regular season is quickly approaching! Fortunately for Seattle, it was strong attendance for day one, but with a couple notable exemptions. Head coach Mike Macdonald updated the media by saying veteran defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins will be starting camp on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list as he is dealing with a back issue. Macdonald seemed confident that Hankins will be fine in the long term. Additionally, cornerback Shaquill Griffin was not at practice due to an illness. Hankins played in all 17 games for the Seahawks in 2024, and was brought over from Dallas likely due to his connection with Seattle's defensive coordinator Aden Durde - who was his defensive line coach with the Cowboys. Hankins was solid last year, and was a starter in eight games. He recorded 30 total tackles, had one sack, and even snagged an interception in the 20-17 upset win over the 49ers. For his efforts, he was awarded a new one-year contract with the Seahawks. Hankins brings valuable depth and veteran leadership to a young Seattle defense.

Cowboys open camp down $15 million of talent as three CBs, LB start on PUP/NFI lists
The Cowboys are ready to kick off their 2025 training camp in Oxnard, Calif., but several key members of the new-look defense will be a little later to start than their teammates. Cornerbacks Trevon Diggs and Josh Butler will open camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, as will linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. Rookie cornerback Shavon Revel, Jr. will start out on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list. Todd Archer of ESPN reported the statuses of the quartet in a Monday morning post to X. None of the four announcements is a surprise. Diggs was shelved in late December, the result of a knee injury that he had played through for most of the 2024 season. He had surgery in January that included a tissue graft procedure, and he was never really expected to be cleared for practice by the beginning of this summer's camp. It's the second straight camp in which the 26-year-old has started out on PUP; last July, he was wrapping up a lengthy rehab, after an ACL tear in the same knee that had cost him most of the 2023 campaign. This time around, the former second-round draft pick has been doing much of his rehab away from the Cowboys facility and staff, a decision that will cost him half a million dollars due to a workout provision in his contract. There is speculation that this could be the final year for Diggs in Dallas, with the club possibly ready to cut ties with the highly-paid but often-injured DB. Diggs is set to cost $12 million against the Cowboys cap for 2025. Overshown is also dealing with a major knee injury. After missing his rookie season to a torn ACL, he suffered a devastating ACL/MCL/PCL tear in December that brought his stellar campaign to an early end. The ex-Texas linebacker wants to return to action in late 2025, however, and is reportedly ahead of schedule in his rehab. The 24-year-old has even declared himself a contender for the league's Comeback Player of the Year award. He checks in with a $1.5 million price tag for this season. Butler's ACL injury was another late-season blow for the Dallas defense, as the Michigan State product had been part of the club's fill-in plan for both Diggs and DaRon Bland. In just his fifth game appearance for the team, he went down on Thanksgiving Day and missed the remainder of the season. The ex-UFL star said on social media just last week that he was "ready for camp." Butler is making around the league minimum and is on the books for $960,000. Revel was the Cowboys' third-round draft pick back in April and will count $1.2 million against the cap this season. The East Carolina product had been thought to be a first-round talent before an ACL tear forced him to sit out most of his final year with the Pirates. Still, his skills are undeniable, and the 24-year-old taken with the 76th overall selection was considered one of the biggest steals of the draft. He is expected to be ready for play before Week 1, even if he won't be greenlit for the start of camp. Follow Cowboys Wire on Facebook to join in on the conversation with fellow fans!

Seahawks remove 4 rookies from Non-Football Injury list
Earlier on Wednesday morning, we at Seahawks Wire published an article discussing how six rookies - including fifth round pick Rylie Mills - were placed on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list prior to the start of training camp. When a player is on the NFI list, they may return to regular team activities at any point during camp once they pass a physical. On Wednesday afternoon, four of those six players did pass their physicals and are cleared to participate in camp starting next week. Unfortunately, defensive tackle Rylie Mills remains on the NFI list for now, and may be for some time. As we mentioned earlier, Mills tore his ACL during the first round of the College Football Playoff. We at Seahawks Wire will continue to monitor his health as one of our top priorities during training camp.

Seahawks place DT Rylie Mills and 5 other rookies on Non-Football injury list
Training camp is right around the corner for the Seattle Seahawks. However, not everyone will be suiting up on July 23rd when it officially begins. On Tuesday evening, the Seahawks announced six rookies will be placed on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list for the start of camp. The rookies are Of these six, only one was drafted by the Seahawks this past spring: Rylie Mills. The Notre Dame defensive tackle was selected by Seattle in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Mills likely would have been drafted higher if it were not for an ACL injury suffered during the first round of the College Football Playoff against Indiana. As a result, Mills had to miss the Irish's final three playoff games, including the National Championship game against Ohio State. As John Boyle of points out, players on the NFI list can return to camp at any time should they pass a physical. The Seahawks will officially begin their training camp on July 23rd, and it will continue through mid-August, which will include the preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders on August 7th.
