KUALA LUMPUR: A kindergarten teacher has been remanded for six days until June 5 for allegedly abusing a six-year-old girl using a pen at a kindergarten in Kota Emerald, Rawang. Gombak police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the 30-year-old woman was arrested at 2 pm yesterday, adding that police also seized a container of pens and a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recorder from the kindergarten to assist in investigations. He said the incident came to light after the victim's father noticed an injury on his daughter's head while they were at home around 10 am on Monday (May 26). 'The victim informed her father that the injury was caused by a teacher who had struck her with a pen while she was at the kindergarten,' he said in a statement today. Noor Ariffin said the girl was referred to Selayang Hospital, where she was confirmed to have sustained a soft tissue injury to the head. Following the incident, the victim's 34-year-old father lodged a police report on Thursday night. The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. KUALA LUMPUR: Police have remanded a 30-year-old female teacher suspected of abusing a six-year-old girl at a private kindergarten in Kota Emerald, Rawang. Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said a six-day remand order has been obtained against the suspect. "She will be held in remand from today until June 6," he said in a brief statement today. It was reported yesterday that the suspect was arrested for allegedly abusing the girl at the private kindergarten. She was arrested by a team from the Gombak district police headquarters at around 2pm. The arrest followed a report lodged by the victim's father. Investigations showed that the incident occurred at about 10am on May 26. The 34-year-old father claimed he noticed injuries on his daughter's head while at home. The victim said that a teacher had caused the injury using a pen while she was at the kindergarten. An investigation paper was opened under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. He added that, to date, no additional police reports have been received regarding the possibility of other victims. 'At this point, we have not received any other reports involving the same suspect. Only the case involving the teenage girl has been reported,' he said during a press conference at the Gombak district police headquarters, here today. On May 23, media reports stated that the influencer had been remanded for four days, with the remand extended by another two days until May 27, to assist in the investigation into allegations of sending lewd images to a 14-year-old girl. The case is being investigated under Section 15(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
