Teacher remanded over alleged abuse of six-year-old girl in Rawang

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have remanded a 30-year-old female teacher suspected of abusing a six-year-old girl at a private kindergarten in Kota Emerald, Rawang.
Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said a six-day remand order has been obtained against the suspect.
"She will be held in remand from today until June 6," he said in a brief statement today.
It was reported yesterday that the suspect was arrested for allegedly abusing the girl at the private kindergarten.
She was arrested by a team from the Gombak district police headquarters at around 2pm. The arrest followed a report lodged by the victim's father.
Investigations showed that the incident occurred at about 10am on May 26.
The 34-year-old father claimed he noticed injuries on his daughter's head while at home.
The victim said that a teacher had caused the injury using a pen while she was at the kindergarten.
An investigation paper was opened under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
