Car runs over cyclist's foot when he was waiting at junction before driving off
A cyclist was rushed to hospital with broken bones after a car ran over his foot in a hit-and-run.
The 34-year-old man was left with two breaks in his right foot after it was driven over at the crossroads of Normanby Road and Flatts Lane in Middlesbrough at around 2.40pm on Saturday (August 2).
The man had been waiting in the middle of the junction to turn right when the car struck.
The driver failed to stop, leaving the injured cyclist in the road, police said.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
Police said the man was unable to get a description of the vehicle. Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
