Aggressive fox reported in White Pines Country Club area, Surry County sheriff says
MOUNT AIRY, N.C. (WGHP) — The Surry County Sheriff's Office is warning the public after multiple reports of an aggressive fox.
According to a press release, on Sunday, the SCSO received multiple reports of a 'fox exhibiting aggressive behavior' in the area of the White Pines Country Club.
The SCSO reports multiple human exposures related to the animal.
Animal Control is actively investigating and attempting to locate the fox, but at this time, it has not been captured or confirmed.
The SCSO is also reminding the public to ensure all pets are up to date on their vaccinations in accordance with the North Carolina General Statute 130A-185.
Residents are encouraged to exercise caution and report any sightings of wildlife acting aggressively or displaying unusual behavior to animal control.
