Young man airlifted to hospital after being struck by motorbike as police swarm scene

A young man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a motorbike. Emergency crews rushed to Northgate in Hartlepool just before 7pm on Saturday (May 11) evening after the incident. A large cordon was put in place. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call at 18.52 yesterday (May 11) to reports of a person injured as a result of an incident between a motorbike and a pedestrian on Northgate in Hartlepool. 'We sent an emergency ambulance, a rapid response paramedic and requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance.
