Early bird tickets are now available for keen runners wanting to take part in the first North Lanarkshire Half Marathon. Lace up and join hundreds of other runners on Sunday, August 24, for an unforgettable race day at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, proudly sponsored by Albert Bartlett. This brand-new event offers something for everyone – from seasoned runners to first-timers – with a friendly community vibe and exciting race options. There are distances to suit all abilities with the route literally running through the heart of North Lanarkshire. Alongside the North Lanarkshire Half-Marathon, the event will feature a 5K, 1K, 400m and a Toddler Dash, making it a truly inclusive experience for the whole community. Families attending can also enjoy a range of free activities, including soft play, bouncy castles, and fun games. Councillor Geraldine Woods, convener of communities, welcomed the new event, saying: 'This is a fantastic addition to North Lanarkshire's sporting calendar. New half marathon event set to take place in Motherwell

A new running event is set to take place in Motherwell this August. North Lanarkshire Council has announced that a half marathon will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility. The event is part of the council's programme of running events, which aim to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get active. Families attending can also enjoy a range of free activities, including soft play, bouncy castles, and fun games.
