Fire causing Friday morning road closures in Winnipeg's North End

(Owen Swinn/CTV News) A house fire in Winnipeg's North Point Douglas neighbourhood is causing Friday morning road closures in the area. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was first called to the blaze in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue just before 5 a.m. Traffic is blocked on Euclid. Drivers are asked to avoid the area. Images from the scene show crews working to extinguish the fire, as well as damage to the exterior of the home. CTV News has reached out to the City of Winnipeg for more information.

Winnipeg's Disraeli Bridge closed as police respond to incident
The Disraeli Bridge in Winnipeg's North Point Douglas neighbourhood is closed Saturday as police respond to an incident. A tactical armoured vehicle and at least a dozen other police vehicles were seen around the bridge, with several officers on the scene. The bridge is closed both ways for pedestrians, vehicles and boats, Winnipeg police said on social media. Access is also off limits to the bridge's off-ramp to Sutherland Avenue. It's unclear what the nature of the incident is. Police did not provide additional information in their social media post.
