With four distances, ranging from 500m to 3km, and a Children's Event, this event tailors to beginners and those more experienced in the water. Kilglass Enniscrone United Football Club KEUFC are delighted to announce that Phase II of our grounds upgrade was completed this week with the installation of our new state-of-the-art LED floodlights. This now means that the club can host evening games going forward and also gives us more capacity to train. The floodlight installation followed Phase I, which was the conversion of the old grass pitch to all Weather astro. The club would sincerely like to thank all the volunteers who helped us with this project, through fundraising, grant applications and lots of other tasks undertaken. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, without whose help we would never get these projects off the ground. Our floodlights were installed by Electric Skyline Ltd and we would like to thank Darren, Fergal, Jason and Dec for their expertise and commitment to doing a top job. What's raised locally stays local is emphasised as a month of giving to North West Hospice gets underway
Hospice Sunflower Days Ambassadors, Miriam O'Callaghan and Jenny McCarthy, were on hand to officially launch this year's campaign. As well as the on-street collection, the public can also support North West Hospice Charity by donating online throughout the month of June at Every euro raised locally, stays locally and the donation will go directly to North West Hospice. The funds raised play a role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Ireland. Hospice and specialist palliative homecare services provide free-of-charge care and support to those living with a life-limiting illness, whilst also helping and supporting the patient's family members. The funds raised will play a role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan. Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Hospice Sunflower Days campaign, Mary Horkan, Fundraising and Communications Manager, North West Hospice said: 'We're absolutely delighted to kick off the 35th Hospice Sunflower Days campaign. 'The generosity and support we continue to receive from our local communities means the world to us. 'This June, we're encouraging everyone across Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal, and West Cavan to give what they can—whether in person or online. Every euro raised stays in the local area, helping to provide vital care and support where it's needed most. 'Your kindness truly makes a difference.' PENDANT ALARMS Merville Community Centre facilitate on behalf of our community the provision to eligible persons of Social Monitored Pendant Alarms, under the Seniors Alert Scheme that is administered by Pobal Equipment Funding is available for eligible persons over 65 years for the installation of an monitored alarm on a landline in the person's home. The alarms are now available for persons aged 65 or older and living alone, living with another person who meets the terms and conditions, living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. First year monitoring is free for all new applicants. Subsequent annual monitoring charges are then payable by the user. Other Systems are available at various costs for those who do not possess a Landline. Overall this monitoring product adds Peace of Mind for Both the Users, family and Friends at minimal cost. RIVERSTOWN Exceptional Community Support The Riverstown's annual tractor run raised an incredible €10,000 for the local first responders group.
