What's raised locally stays local is emphasised as a month of giving to North West Hospice gets underway

Hospice Sunflower Days Ambassadors, Miriam O'Callaghan and Jenny McCarthy, were on hand to officially launch this year's campaign. As well as the on-street collection, the public can also support North West Hospice Charity by donating online throughout the month of June at Every euro raised locally, stays locally and the donation will go directly to North West Hospice. The funds raised play a role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Ireland. Hospice and specialist palliative homecare services provide free-of-charge care and support to those living with a life-limiting illness, whilst also helping and supporting the patient's family members. The funds raised will play a role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan. Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Hospice Sunflower Days campaign, Mary Horkan, Fundraising and Communications Manager, North West Hospice said: 'We're absolutely delighted to kick off the 35th Hospice Sunflower Days campaign. 'The generosity and support we continue to receive from our local communities means the world to us. 'This June, we're encouraging everyone across Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal, and West Cavan to give what they can—whether in person or online. Every euro raised stays in the local area, helping to provide vital care and support where it's needed most. 'Your kindness truly makes a difference.' Hospice Sunflower Days Ambassador, Miriam O'Callaghan, commented, 'The Hospice Sunflower Days campaign is one I am absolutely delighted to support as I have seen firsthand the fantastic work and care that hospices and homecare services provide to patients and families all across the country. 'With hospices needing to raise approximately €20 million each year to continue to provide their specialist care, it is so important for the public to show their support by donating on-street or on-line during this year's campaign.' People can support North West Hospice Charity by donating to the on-street volunteers on Thursday, 5th or Friday, 6th June, or by donating online throughout the month of June via the website,
