Weymouth mayor cheekily declares the Hingham Bay should be renamed the Gulf of Weymouth
Hedlund said the renaming of Hingham Bay was 'justifiable' given that 'three Harbor islands are territorially part of Weymouth,' and 'Weymouth was settled 11 years prior to Hingham' and 'Hingham has culturally appropriated facts surrounding the revolutionary war skirmish known as The Battle of Grape Island (territorially located in Weymouth).'
'Hingham has since been colonized itself by New Yorkers employed in financial services in Boston with no long standing history of the body of water formerly known as Hingham Bay,' Hedlund continued. 'Should Hingham attempt to reverse this action militarily the North Weymouth Navy stands ready to defend the Gulf of Weymouth, led by its flagship Chubby.
