Calgary police searching for suspect in Calgary hotel sexual assault

A suspect believed to have sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel located in the 100 block of Freeport Boulevard N.E. (Courtesy: Calgary Police Service) Police are searching for an unknown man believed to have sexually assaulted and robbed a woman in a northeast Calgary hotel room. The incident occurred on May 16, around 3 p.m., at a hotel located in the 100 block of Freeport Boulevard N.E. Police said the suspect entered the hotel and met with an unknown woman in a room. After he arrived, the suspect threatened the woman with a knife while demanding cash, her cellphone and the room safe. Police say the man then restrained the victim and sexually assaulted her several times. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim's cellphone. Police were contacted about the incident and launched an investigation. The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old man, between 5'8' and 5'11' tall, weighing between 150 and 200 pounds with a medium build. He had short black hair and black facial hair and was last seen wearing a white Puma hoodie, blue or grey pants and grey running shoes. Anyone with information about the identity of this suspect is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
