Drug Task Force seizes pills, crack cocaine at Athens man's home
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department announced a drug bust in early April had netted crack cocaine, oxycodone pills and packs of marijuana. One man was arrested. The April 9 operation happened on Westchester Drive and ended with 67-year-old Will Crawford Dean, of Athens, in custody. The Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force also seized $4,200 in cash and Dean's car. He was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of schedule ii substance with intent to distribute. Search warrant leads to arrest of Athens man in possession of drug, paraphrenalia
A man was arrested last week after a search warrant was led to a drug bust in Athens Clarke County. The Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force served a warrant in the 100 block of Rocksprings Court on February 25 in reference to the distribution of narcotics out of a home in the area. Law enforcement officials arrested 44-year-old Steven Wall of Athens after a search of his apartment turned up cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, and marijuana. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] While searching the apartment, police also found a Hi Point .9mm pistol and $476 in cash. Wall was charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, theft of lost or mislaid property-firearm, along with other drug-related charges. 3 people arrested after fentanyl, cocaine found at Athens home
Three people were arrested after police served a search warrant at an Athens home and found fentanyl and cocaine. On Feb. 26, the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force served the warrant in the 100 block of Bedford Drive in Athens. Officials said Deborah Lumpkin, 66, allowed the suspect, Quincy Brooks, 47, to distribute fentanyl from the home. Lumpkin, Brooks, and Christian 'Christi' Lumpkin, 35, were detained. Police found fentanyl, cocaine, and Schedule IV pharmaceuticals were found at the home. Brooks was charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of Schedule IV with intent to distribute. Athens man arrested after 1,000 grams of cocaine found inside one of his homes
Athens Clarke-County Police arrested a man after he was found in possession of a large amount of cocaine. Earlier this week, the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force searched two homes belonging to 55-year-old Dextrell Callaway of Athens in the 700 block of Mitchell Bridge Road and the 100 block of Cross Creek Place. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Officials found Callaway at his home on Mitchell Bridge Road, along with 1,000 grams of cocaine. Inside of the homes, officers found materials for the purpose of making, packaging, and distributing cocaine in addition to other controlled substances.
