Tracking a steamy and stormy late-week
Hot and muggy summer air will remain in place across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through the work week, fueling isolated t-storms chances Wednesday night and Thursday. Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Friday, as a low pressure system passes through the region. Hail and damaging wind gusts will be the primary hazards with any storms that develop Friday. Mostly sunny skies and afternoon 90s Wednesday afternoon, will give way to lows in the 70s and a 20% chance for stray t-storms Wednesday night. Slight t-storm chances continue Thursday, with partly to mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the mid 90s.

Tracking spotty t-storm chances, continuing heat
After a round of thunderstorms early Tuesday morning, partly sunny skies and dry conditions have returned to Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas for the afternoon. Skies will remain dry through Tuesday evening, with light winds, and overnight lows falling into the upper 60s after midnight. Wednesday will bring partly to mostly sunny skies, and afternoon heat as highs reach the upper 80s to low 90s with a 20% chance of stray t-storms. Low t-storm chances, and hot humid conditions will continue Thursday, before widespread chances for thunderstorm activity return Friday. A slight cool-off is in the cards following thunderstorms on Friday, with highs on Saturday forecast to run in the low 80s, several degrees below average!

Isolated to scattered t-storm chances, and July heat will continue across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas to start the work week. Most storms will be garden variety, with gusty winds and small hail possible. Monday afternoon and evening will bring 20% to 30% chances of isolated t-storms, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Thunderstorm chances will increase to 40% after midnight, with lows falling into the upper 60s to low 70s. Periods of cloud cover and scattered shower/t-storm activity will prevail across the region Tuesday, as a disturbance passes through the area. Rain chances of 40% to 60% stick around Tuesday afternoon and evening, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and heat indices in the low 90s.

Tracking scattered t-storms, summer heat
Widely scattered thunderstorms will continue to fire across parts of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Saturday afternoon and evening, as a front passes through the region. A few storms may produce gusty winds, heavy rain, and small hail. Partly cloudy skies, and a 40% chance of t-storms will linger into the overnight hours, with mid 80s before sunset giving way to lows in the mid to lower 70s. Breezy southwest winds at 10-15 mph will become light after midnight. Rain and thunderstorm chances will fall to around 20% Sunday and Monday, with seasonably hot temperatures lingering as highs remain in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Several more opportunities for thunderstorm activity are expected to build into the area by the middle of next week, as an active pattern returns to the region.

Seasonably hot and humid conditions will remain across Northwest Missouri Northeast Kansas through Independence Day weekend, with increasing chances for scattered t-storms by Saturday. A mainly dry and toasty Fourth of July will give way to a warm and muggy night. Stray t-storm chances at 10% to 20%, and partly cloudy skies continue through the evening hours with afternoon 90s giving way to low 80s and upper 70s late. Heat indices will top out in the mid to upper 90s early, before settling into the 80s after sunset Friday. Periods of increased cloud coverage, and scattered t-storm activity are likely by Saturday morning, with a 60% chance of showers and t-storms through the day and afternoon highs near 90 degrees. Humid air will once again allow heat indices to rise into the mid to upper 90s during the hottest hours of Saturday. Rain and t-storm chances will become more isolated Sunday, and periods of sunshine will promote another afternoon of upper 80s and low 90s.
