Rio Rancho Police investigate body found on Northern Boulevard
RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Rio Rancho Police closed a portion of Northern Boulevard Thursday morning as officers investigate a body that was found. Police said the body of an adult male was found near the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Calor Road NE around 5 a.m. The roadway had been blocked off earlier in the morning due to rainwater washing debris across the roadway, according to RRPD Capt. No foul play is suspected, and the identity of the person will not be released until next of kin is notified, Reedy said in an email. The intersection of Northern Boulevard and Calor Road NE will remain closed until the investigation is complete and crews are able to safely remove all remaining debris from the road. Driver dead after car crashes into Manhasset Quaker Meeting House, bursts into flames
One person died when a car crashed into the Quaker Meeting House in Manhasset Thursday morning. Authorities say the driver died when the car crashed into the building on Northern Boulevard near Onderdonk Avenue at around 5:40 a.m. The car then burst into flames. Firefighters from Manhasset-Lakeville, Port Washington, Pandome and Great Neck all responded to the scene. Authorities say the building suffered serious damage to its foundation. Investigators with the arson and bomb squad are on the scene, along with fire marshal, and detectives. The name of the person who died has not yet been released.
