For a third year, Rock Solid Wrestling will be offering live professional wrestling, dubbed 'Shake the Lake,' on Aug 23 in the Northern College Athletics & Wellness Centre. 'Rock Solid Wrestling makes it a point to give back to every town that we perform in. We always partner with what we like to call a community partner,' said event promoter Adam Contant. He said Community Living helped take care of his late uncle, Raymond Contant. That's the same uncle who first introduced Adam to wrestling when he was a child. Used to watch Saturday mornings 'My first exposure to professional wrestling was watching it with him on Saturday mornings, and then in the evenings and any other time that we could get our hands on some tapes,' Contant said. 'The fact that I ended up getting into this crazy world and even putting on shows across the province is really because of him.' Contant is expecting another packed house for the upcoming show. 'We've been very lucky in that the community has been incredibly supportive of the events that are coming to Kirkland Lake,' he said. 'It seems every year we get more and more. We're definitely expecting somewhere between 400 and 600 people to show up for this event.' 'Local businesses have been incredible with supporting us and showing their love towards both to us and Community Living, of course – that's the whole reason we're doing it.' Tickets go on sale Friday on the Rock Solid Wrestling website ( or in-person at Chance and Cholo Tattoo on Kirkland Street West.
