Who is Nqaba Peter? Young SA wrist-spinner tipped as Tahir's successor

Nqabayomzi 'Nqaba' Peter is a promising 22-year-old wrist-spinner who has rapidly climbed South Africa's cricketing ranks despite limited experience in the longer formats. Peter was seen playing for the Proteas during the 2nd T20I encounter against Australia and even took a brilliant catch to dismiss Cameron Green as Maphaka's first over on the brought his team's 2nd wicket in the powerplay on the night. Peter got a surprise inclusion in the ODI squad for the series against Afghanistan last year as he raised eyebrows with just four List A wickets to his name at the time. His selection, however, reflected South Africa's urgent need to groom the next generation of wrist-spinners as veterans Tabraiz Shamsi and Imran Tahir near the end of their international careers. Peter's debut vs WI Peter made his international debut in May, 2024 during the T20I series against West Indies, where he impressed with a 2-32 spell on debut. Though he struggled in his second match and in a subsequent 'A' tour to Sri Lanka, his T20 credentials remain solid. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in the 2024 CSA T20 Challenge, grabbing 20 wickets in 10 games at an economy of 5.84. His match-winning 4-18 in the semi-final against Northerns showcased his potential under pressure. With a unique high-arm action that generates bounce and pace, Peter's bowling style evokes comparisons to Imran Tahir. Recently picked for the white-ball tour of Australia, he has made an appearance in the 2nd T20I. However, the youngster didn't have a good start to his night as Tim David smashed him all across the park as he gave 19 runs in his first over on the night. Despite the beating he took, South Africa clearly sees him as a long-term investment and will give him more chances as he progresses.

Northerns reserves crush Kempton Park

Benoni Northerns Football Club (BNFC) reserves delivered a ruthless attacking masterclass to crush Kempton Park 8-0 on August 2 to book their spot in the semis of the Eastern Super League reserves cup. The dominant performance left no doubt about their title ambitions, as Northerns dismantled their opponents with clinical finishing, slick passing and relentless pressure from the start to the final whistle. Midfield dynamo Tshepo Dimpe capped an incredible afternoon with a hat-trick while diminutive winger, Anesu Nkabinde, led the way on the Manny Fereirrinho main field with an early brace to put the hosts in a commanding position. From early in the game, Kempton Park struggled to deal with Northerns' pace and high tempo and time and again, their back four was found napping, while Dimpe, Ernest Mlakalaka, Nkabinde and Thato Molapo dictated matters up front. Northerns scored five unanswered goals in the first half and added three more in the second stanza to move a step closer to the final. Nkabinde put the hosts ahead in the fifth minute before tapping in a cross from the right to double his team's advantage three minutes later. Any plans of a comeback from Kempton were thwarted in the 19th minute when Dimpe added Northerns' third, and it got worse as Molapo made it four a minute later. Mlakalaka added his name to the scoresheet when he found the back of the net with a clever backheel inside the area in the 34th minute, sending the home side into the break with a commanding 5-0 lead. Dimpe scored his second of the day and his team's sixth a minute into the second half before grabbing his hat-trick in the 53rd minute with a clever shot on the edge of the box. Found unmarked on the left, the midfielder showed great composure, pausing with the ball before noticing the keeper had committed to the near post. With a subtle body feint, he curled a precise shot into the far corner. Northerns keeper, Hector Makhanya, who earlier saved a penalty, sealed the match from the spot. Meanwhile, the Northerns senior team may not have lit up the pitch in the late game, but their gritty 1-0 victory over Bedfordview was enough to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the seniors' cup, proving that sometimes, winning ugly still gets the job done. Nothing separated the two sides at the break after a lacklustre first half. The game came to life in the second half when Nyakallo Mokoena put Northerns ahead, pouncing on a loose ball after a goalmouth scramble. Despite Bedfordview's late surge, the game ended 1-0 as Northerns advanced to the semis. Robyn achieves Comrades PB for little leukemia sufferer

Zishan Reddy's mom, Goolshun, offered words of encouragement that kept Robyn Daniel going when the going got tough on the Comrades Marathon route on June 8. Daniel dedicated her eighth ultimate human race to Zishan, a Grade Three learner at Ashton International College, who is battling leukemia for the second time. Although it was a tough day, she was running with purpose and dug deep to stay motivated. She ultimately completed the 89.98km race with a down run personal best time of 09:53:23, earning her third Robert Mtshali medal. 'It was a tough day — probably the toughest of the eight and three-quarters Comrades I've done. (That three-quarter run was when I was pregnant with Tyler and had to stop at 75km.) I felt nauseous from 30km but fortunately managed to find some medication along the way and from family supporting me on the route,' she said. 'I had written Zishan's name on my left hand, so any time I looked at my watch I was reminded of him and my purpose for this year's run. 'I don't normally run with my phone, but I did this year and kept in contact with his mom for most of the run. Her words of encouragement kept me going when I was in the 'dark place'. 'When I finished and I saw my husband, I put my head on his shoulder and cried. I cried because I was so grateful to be done. I cried because a little warrior named Zishan gave me that extra push and helped me get a PB for the down run. 'I cried because this was the first year I ran the Comrades without my late uncle's support along the way. It was a deeply emotional day, and I felt incredibly grateful to have completed the race that so many are not able to run. 'When I gave Zishan my medal, I asked him if he'd run Comrades with me when he's old enough and earn his own medal. He said, 'Maybe' — I'm going to hold him to that.' Zishan needs a stem cell donor. This star player has net worth of Rs 51000000, has world record in his name for..., his name is...

"South African star cricketer Heinrich Klaasen stunned cricket fans after announcing his retirement from international cricket. He took this decision at the prime of his career. In this gallery, we will discuss his net worth, income sources, and various brand deals which he gets due to the IPL. Klaasen's career in the domestic league began with Northerns, where he performed brilliantly in the 2012-13 season. He wasted no time in delivering results, especially in the Provincial Three-Day Cup where he averaged 42.58, his tally in the competition rising to 32.55. The key to his unexpected potential lies in his amazing aim and willpower as he put up brilliant performances in other games which set an incredible standard for him. The month of February in the year 2017 will go down as a turning point in Klaasen's life. Participating in a game for the Titans against the Dolphins, he scored a brilliant 195 runs, and this was his first century in domestic cricket. This brilliant innings caught the attention of his selectors and hence he was included in the national team. Thereafter, after the invaluable opportunities he got from Quinton de Kock's injury, he started developing as an explosive batsman especially in the limited-overs format of the game. Klaasen proved his worth in limited-overs cricket by bailing the team out of trouble many times. His aggressive yet composed style makes him a reliable middle-order batsman. His finishing skills and ability to score quick runs have made him an asset to the team in both ODIs and T20s. By putting an end to his international career, Klaasen now wants to focus on his family and future. Although he has retired from international cricket, he is expected to remain active in leagues like franchise cricket and continue to inspire young players with his experience.
