'Queen of Rock 'N' Roll' to host Glasgow concert in 2026

Rock icon Suzi Quatro has announced a 'triumphant return' to UK stages in 2026, with a 10-date tour across the country to celebrate an 'incredible' 62 years in the industry. As part of the tour, the 74-year-old, from Michigan in the United States of America, will perform at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday, April 7. The 2026 tour follows Suzi's last UK outing in November 2024. Ahead of the shows, she said: 'It's my 62nd year in the business, and it still feels like I've just started. 'Devil Gate Drive', Number 1, 52 years ago." Suzi added: "Are you ready now? Let's do it one more time for Suzi.' After that, the singer, bass guitarist, songwriter, and actress went on to sell more than 55 million records and spent over 100 weeks in the UK charts between 1973 and 1980. She is known for her tunes, including Devil Gate Drive, 48 Crash, and Singing With Angels. Tickets for the gig will go on sale from 10am on Friday, May 30. However, fans will be able to grab presale tickets from 10am on Thursday, May 29.

Home-grown actor Mark Lee has a new feather in his cap after winning the Best Actor accolade at the 1st Asian Art Film Awards in Macau on April 23. The 56-year-old clinched the award under the Pioneer Trend section for his role as a drag queen in comedy-drama Number 2. He beat South Korea's Kim Dae-gun, China's Xiaoshenyang, Sun Junsheng and Yao Lu, as well as Kazakhstan's Azamat Nigmanov. Number 2 is a sequel to Number 1, which earned Lee a nomination for Best Leading Actor at Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards in 2020. The win in Macau was Lee's second international film award. He was named Best Actor at the Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival in April 2024 for his role as a single father in the period film Wonderland. Lee was unable to attend the ceremony in Macau due to work commitments. The award was accepted on his behalf by his co-star Jaspers Lai, who was also the screenwriter of Number 2. "I have prepared an acceptance speech for Jaspers, thinking it would not be used, but it was," Lee told Chinese-language daily Lianhe Zaobao. Another Singapore film to win an award at the 1st Asian Art Film Awards was director Kelvin Sng's King Of Hawkers. The movie, starring actors such as Dawn Yeoh, Ryan Lian and Hugo Ng, clinched Best Feature Film under the Times Torrent section. Mediacorp artiste Gini Chang, who made her big screen debut in King Of Hawkers playing Yeoh's daughter, was nominated for Best Actress.

Released early this year, Number 2 is the sequel to 2020's Number 1 – the movie which nabbed Lee a nomination for best leading actor at the 57th Golden Horse Awards.
