Every Actor Brings Something Unique The actress further said she doesn't believe in comparing performances, as every actor brings something unique to a role. She added that even thinking she could do better would feel like a disservice to her craft. For her, acting is deeply personal, shaped by both the actor's interpretation and the director's vision. Nushrratt Bharuccha on if she would have 'done better job' than Ananya Panday in Dream Girl 2

Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has responded to a question about whether she would have "done a better job" in Dream Girl 2 instead of Ananya Panday and whether the film would have been "better" then. Speaking with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, Nushrratt added that she wouldn't "have an answer" to it. Nushrratt Bharuccha starred in Dream Girl, while Ananya Panday was part of Dream Girl 2. Nushrratt Bharuccha says whether Dream Girl 2 would be better if she was part of it Nushrratt said that there are a lot of films she wishes she could have done. 'You can ask me this question about any film not just the one I was replaced from and I'll not have an answer. Till I actually do it, till I actually do the an actor do I ever think, 'Isne yeh film kiya main isse better karsakti hoon (She has done this film, I can do better)?' I would never say it, even if it's not my own film. I look up to a lot of actors' work and a lot of films I wish I could have done. But that is the greed in me to want to do that part. Would I ever say, 'Main isse better kar sakti hoon (I can do better than her)?' (Shakes her head),' she said. Nushrratt talks about actor's version and director's vision She added that even the thought would make her feel she is doing 'grave injustice'. 'Mere DNA mein nahi hai, hai hi nahi (It's not there in my DNA). I don't know how to bring that thought into my mind and body. I feel like even thinking it, I'd do a grave injustice to the fact that I have chosen to be an actor and be in this profession. Acting is a very personal thing. Every actor brings something absolutely different on screen. You can't say, 'isse better hoga ya worse hoga (it'll be better or worse)'. Woh uska version hai,woh director ka vision hai. Usko woh chahiye woh hai (That's her version, director's vision. He wants it),' she concluded. Nushrratt Bharuccha opens up on being replaced after 3 years; calls out industry's popularity bias; says 'I felt cheated, but moved on'

Nushrratt Bharuccha has always been candid about the struggles behind her acting career, and in a recent conversation, she shared one of the most painful experiences she's faced. Speaking to Nayandeep Rakshit, the actress revealed that she was signed for a film for three years—without a director, lead hero, or producer in place. She was the only one locked in for the project, and during that time, remained committed to it. But just when everything began to fall into place and the film finally got rolling, she received a call saying she was no longer part of it. Not a star kid—just someone trending at the time When asked whether the replacement was a case of favoritism toward star kids, Nushrratt clarified, 'Mera thoda alag tha.' She wasn't replaced by someone from a film family, but rather by someone who had become the 'flavour of the season.' A more popular name, and perhaps, a more commercially viable choice in the eyes of the makers. Despite feeling shocked and let down, she didn't name the film or the person who replaced her, choosing instead to take the high road. 'I have no interest in discrediting anyone or picking up a fight,' she said. Standing by the film—only to be sidelined Nushrratt said what hurt the most was her loyalty. She had been the only person signed when the project had nothing going for it—no backing, no cast, no clear vision. And after three years of quietly holding on, she felt blindsided by the sudden decision to move forward without her. 'Of course I felt cheated,' she admitted, recalling how she voiced her concerns and even reached out to people behind the scenes. 'If I wasn't locked for it, you had the choice to say 'Nushrratt nahi, koi aur. ' But I was signed,' she said. Despite the setback, she noted that the film didn't perform all that well in the end. Nushrratt Bharuccha Says Guys Get Offers After Delivering One Hit In Bollywood: 'Women Struggle'

Nushrratt Bharuccha opened up about facing sexism in Bollywood and being treated unequally on film sets. Nushrratt Bharuccha does not mince words and has now openly spoken about the kind of everyday inequality actresses still face in Bollywood. In a chat with YouTuber Nayandeep Rakshit, the Chhorii 2 actor shared moments from her career that made her feel how different the treatment can be between male and female actors – even after proving themselves. Talking about vanity vans on set, Nushrratt revealed she had to ask if she could use a male co-star's van just for the washroom. 'There have been times when I went around asking, 'Can I use the hero's vanity van for 5 minutes? He's not here anyway. Can I use the washrooms?' Because they are nicer than mine. However, I won't complain or bicker at that time. I tell myself that I will get myself to that point where I get these things by default." She also recalled a particular international flight where she was booked in economy class, while the male leads travelled business. Despite friends offering her a seat in business to hang out for a while, she stayed where she was. 'I tell myself that I will get myself to that point where I get these things by default." That goal, she said, was something she did end up achieving. Beyond the vanity vans and flights, Nushrratt said the deeper issue is the lack of equal opportunities for women in the industry, especially after delivering a hit film. 'As soon as a guy delivers a hit, no matter if he is an insider or an outsider, he will get five new options immediately. But women have to keep struggling. I have been saying this since the time of Pyaar Ka Punchnama," she said. She continued, 'I am not saying that she has to become an overnight sensation or anything. What does an actor want once their movie is a hit? To get a few options for potential future projects from which they can choose. That's it. They just need opportunities. We don't get as many (options) as heroes do." Nushrratt was last seen in Chhorii 2, a horror film directed by Vishal Furia, also starring Soha Ali Khan and Gashmeer Mahajani. The film is available on Netflix. First Published: July 24, 2025, 18:53 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Nushrratt Bharuccha reveals she was once made to fly economy class with technicians: 'All other actors were in business class'

Synopsis Nushrratt Bharuccha faced early career challenges in Bollywood, experiencing unequal treatment regarding travel arrangements. Despite a successful film, she was unexpectedly dropped by her agency, leading to a two-year period without work. She persevered, eventually rebuilding her career and starring in 'Chhorii 2,' marking a significant comeback. In a candid chat with Nayandeep Rakshit, 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' actress revealed she was made to fly in an economy class, along with technicians. Breaking into Bollywood is no easy feat, especially for someone without any industry ties. Nushrratt Bharuccha, known for her role in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, reflected on the hurdles she faced as an outsider trying to establish herself in a world that often favors familiarity over fresh faces. Early in her career, Nushrratt often found herself in uncomfortable and unequal situations, particularly when it came to travel arrangements during shoots. She recounted how she used to travel in economy class alongside technicians and their assistants, even while co-actors with more significant roles enjoyed the comfort of business class. On one particular occasion during an international flight for a film where she had a minor role, all the lead actors were seated in business class. Meanwhile, she had been assigned a seat in the economy section, grouped with the crew support staff. Some acquaintances from the business class section invited her to join them, but she chose to remain in her designated seat. Her reasoning was rooted in dignity and belief—she wanted to wait for the day she would rightfully be booked in business class by the production house itself, not just out of courtesy or pity. Over time, she managed to turn that belief into a reality through her persistence and work ethic."Once, I was playing a small role in a film. All the other actors were seated in business class, while I was in economy class along with the assistants of technicians. I had made friends with some of the people (in business class). They said, 'Nush, come and sit with us.' That was an option as well. But I said, 'I won't come because this is the place that was given to me. But I will come to a place where I will fly business class and they will book my tickets with the production house's money, not mine.' I have managed to make that happen," she said. Despite delivering a successful film that marked a high point in her career, Nushrratt soon found herself in an unexpectedly dark phase. She didn't mention the film by name, but shortly after its success, her management agency dropped her without warning. The rejection came in the most unexpected way—a seemingly routine coffee meeting with her manager turned into a heartbreaking much explanation, she was told that the agency could no longer represent her. This was a deeply emotional moment for her, made worse by the fact that she had just delivered one of the biggest hits of her life. She tried to hold back tears, but the emotional toll was overwhelming. After the manager left, Nushrratt sat alone, silently weeping into her coffee. She had gone from a career high to a painful void with no professional nearly two years following this incident, she had no work. Despite the perception that she was simply taking her time to choose the right scripts, the reality was far more distressing. She wasn't flooded with offers, nor was she rejecting projects selectively—she simply wasn't being approached. With no team or agency to represent her and no projects in the pipeline, Nushrratt felt isolated in an industry that often only values constant visibility and momentum. While the public assumed she was taking a break to carefully craft her next move, she was actually struggling to stay afloat emotionally and these setbacks, Nushrratt continued to rebuild her career. Most recently, she appeared in Chhorii 2, a horror thriller directed by Vishal Furia. The movie, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Jack Davis, is a sequel to the 2021 film Chhorii. In this installment, she returned in the lead role, supported by actors Soha Ali Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani, and Saurabh Goyal. The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, 2025, marking another significant milestone in her ongoing journey through Bollywood's unpredictable terrain.
