While still not releasing a cause of death, Ontario Provincial Police have identified the person found last week in the waters of Georgian Bay near Parry Sound.
'The deceased has been identified as a 27-year-old from Etobicoke,' police said in a news release Tuesday.
The body was found around 8 a.m. Aug. 8. The OPP's marine unit responded to a report of personal property being found near Georgian Bay.
That discovery 'prompted a search of the nearby water,' police said.
Human remains were located in the water after a search by the OPP underwater search and recovery unit.
A post-mortem will be conducted 'at a later time,' police said.
