BAU-Sabour gets NAAC Grade ‘A' certification

Bhagalpur: Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, Bhagalpur, has been awarded with NAAC Grade 'A' certification with a remarkable score of 3.08 out of 4 CGPA points, making it a nationally acclaimed institution of the state. BAU vice chancellor DR Singh said the NAAC Grade 'A' has put the university among the top-ranking universities of the country in the field of agriculture imparting education on projects focusing on sustainable agriculture, climate-resilient crops, precision farming, biotechnology and soil health etc. "The NAAC peer team visited the university between May 28 to May 30 for assessment in which all major academic, administrative, infrastructural, research and education extension aspects were thoroughly evaluated," the VC said. Referring to the grading, the VC further said it is a prestigious recognition awarded to higher educational institutions, indicating that it has achieved a high-level of standards in various aspects, including teaching, research, infrastructure, governance and student outcomes, within in a short span of 15 years. "The grading also underlines the university's alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the effective implementation across all parameters of higher education," Singh said, adding, "the university strategically restructured its course curriculum to make it multi-disciplinary, skill-oriented and innovation-driven academic course". The NAAC also lauded the BAU's consistent progress in diversifying student enrolments by reaching out for under-represented communities from rural and marginalized backgrounds, student satisfaction survey (recorded with an impressive 92.5% satisfaction based on OTP-verified feedback on teaching quality, mentorship and academic support), added the VC. Singh said the substantial steps for developing digital infrastructure, enabling smart classrooms, videoconferencing facilities, e-learning modules, digital libraries, and advanced laboratory systems through Learning Management System (LMS) are in use at the university. "These facilities allow seamless interaction between students and teachers, enhances blended learning and supports the digital assessment," he said.
