Oasis-goers caution tonight's ticketholders after reports of problems in stadium

TENS OF THOUSANDS of Oasis fans descended on Croke Park yesterday for the brothers' first Irish show since 2009, but it didn't quite go off without a hitch. Some of last night's attendees have reported problems they encountered in the stadium, especially for those with standing tickets on the pitch. A number of standing section ticketholders have said they were initially let in to Croke Park but weren't given a wristband, a method commonly used by stadiums to identify who is entitled to access into standing areas. They were then later stopped from entering the standing area because of not having a wristband, causing delays for fans trying to get onto the pitch and secure a spot to watch the concert. Video footage from last night's gig shows a large number of fans still streaming onto the pitch after the Gallagher brothers had already started performing. Advertisement The Journal has contacted event management MCD for comment. At the other end of the concert, planned pyrotechnics for the finale didn't happen last night 'due to a technical issue'. Liam and Noel are playing a second sold-out show in Croke Park tonight for more excited fans. Gates are scheduled to open at 5pm, with opening acts due to perform at 6pm and 7pm before Oasis come on at around 8.15pm. The show should end around 10.15pm. If you're attending, make sure to check the colour of your entry route to know which direction you should approach the stadium from. Entry is by coloured zone - check your ticket and refer to the map. Plan your arrival, follow signage, and you're golden. #OasisLive25 #OasisDublin — DublinLive25 (@DublinLive25) August 16, 2025 Readers like you are keeping these stories free for everyone... Oasis fans have their say after opening night in Croker

Oasis weekend is finally upon us, and anyone heading to Croke Park to see brothers Liam and Noel on Sunday are in for a treat according to those who went to the first Irish gig on Saturday. Last year, the moment many thought would never came arrived when the feuding brothers announced they were reuniting for a string of gigs in 2025, and while some didn't think the bromance would last until Ireland got its turn, they appear happier than ever. Footage has been circulating on social media in the last few hours with one clip seeing the brothers walking out to the stage at GAA HQ holding hands much to the delight of die-hard fans. Speaking to the crowd on Saturday, Liam wondered if there was anyone from Peggy's native of Charlestown in County Mayo. We're typically not huge lovers of drones around here. But they made the sky above Dublin look very cool last night ahead of the @oasis gigs in Croke Park. 📸 @sryanbruenphoto — Dublin Airport (@DublinAirport) August 16, 2025 With the crowd erupting after Liam mentioned the town, the 52-year-old joked: 'There's only about five people there, you can't all be f*cking from there.' Gardaí and stewards will be on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly for concert attendees. Doors opened at 5pm on Saturday, and will do so again on Sunday, with the show getting underway from 6pm with support acts Richard Ashcroft (formerly of The Verve) and Liverpudlian band Cast.
