WIN: We're giving away a weekend family pass to Kaleidoscope presented by Glenveagh

WE'VE ALREADY HAD several weeks of sunshine so far this year, and if that's anything to go by, then we've got a great summer in store. When making family plans for the summer months, one of the challenges can be finding something that the whole family can enjoy together. You won't find many solutions better than Kaleidoscope , presented by Glenveagh , one of Ireland's most popular family-friendly festivals. Kaleidoscope prides itself on being Ireland's first fully inclusive family event. Taking place at Russborough House, Co Wicklow, between 4-6 July, Kaleidoscope is back with a music line-up worthy of any festival, Dermot Bannon's design school, and a range of activities to keep everyone in the family entertained. The best news is that we're giving away a weekend family pass to one lucky winner, which includes parking and campsite access. This year's music line-up features heavyweights such as Ocean Colour Scene and Texas, two of the most popular British rock bands of the 90s, headlining on the Friday and Saturday respectively. Taking the festival home on Sunday evening are The Coronas, one of Ireland's most beloved and most successful bands of the last 20 years. The stellar music line-up also includes popular Irish acts like Hermitage Green, The Riptide Movement and Simple Things, as well as cover bands and tribute acts to fan favourites such as ABBA, The Smiths and Daft Punk. Check out the full line-up above, or explore even further by checking out the full line-up as well as a range of family, artistic and performance activities taking place across the weekend. Glenveagh Elemen-Tree Woods Glenveagh, one of Ireland's leading community builders , is the presenting partner for the Kaleidoscope festival once again this year. Room to Improve host Dermot Bannon will be back with his design school, where young people get the chance to be taught by Bannon himself in design workshops on the Saturday and Sunday. Not only that, but young budding architects will have the opportunity to design a treehouse, with a grand prize of a treehouse voucher worth €2,000 for the winner. There's no shortage of other events for younger kids too, including a Mini Kids Disco, Kids Yoga, Kids Movie Time and an LGFA 'Show Us Your Skills' Zone. 'Greatest hits': Ocean Colour Scene promise Britpop favourites at city gig

Ocean Colour Scene return to play a summer show in Southampton next month for the first time since their 90s Britpop heyday. Back then it was an appearance at one of the much missed Power in the Park events that reigned supreme in the city, attracting as many as 100,000 young revellers to Southampton Common to see the likes of Boyzone, Rachel Stevens and Peter Andre. Thirty years later the band, responsible for retro hits including The Day We Caught the Train, are one of the headliners for TK Presents Southampton Summer Sessions, a Guildhall Square concert series now in its second year. (Image: Brian Sweeney)READ MORE: Iconic music venue 'facing uncertainty' as campaign launched to secure future "I remember it well," says guitarist Steve Cradock. "It was very pop, but it was a lot of fun. "We become a bit of a hippy band when we play outdoors! Well that's the vibe I get anyway. "Our indoor shows are very intense, which is fantastic, but I love the freedom of playing outdoors. "People want to hear the stuff they know, so you can expect a greatest hits type thing, unlike our own shows where we can be a bit more self indulgent. People are there to hear stuff they know." Ocean Colour Scene will be supported on Friday June 27 by fellow 90s artists Cast and Echobelly at Summer Sessions, which also boasts appearances from McFly, Train, The Human League, Simple Minds, and Rag'n'Bone Man. Steve revealed the band, who have had 17 Top 40 singles and six Top Ten singles over the years, are considering releasing a new record, something they haven't done for more than a decade. He also plays guitar for Paul Weller and The Specials and has been producing the latest album for up and coming duo Burr Island. "It's always been all about the music for me. I must have been about 11 years old when it started to make a huge impression on me and it still really thrills me," Steve added. Tickets for the Ocean Colour Scene gig are on sale now from

Restaurant review: ‘The bill for dinner for two comes to €29.30 – but be prepared to have your face smeared with food'

Our critic gets messy with tasty Turkish food at bargain prices right in Dublin city centre Whenever I pass a concert venue, I try to guess who's playing by the cut of the audience. Some fans make it easier than others, what with the merch and tribute outfits, but I'm not sure I'd have figured out that it was Ocean Colour Scene on stage at the Olympia one night last week had it not been for a sneaky look at the billboard outside. Gary Barlow the following evening might have been easier. But whatever the band playing, when revellers spill out onto Dame Street, they are spoilt for choice if kebabs are their post-gig eat of choice. I know a Dublin restaurant owner whose ritual it is, once in the taxi on the way home from the airport, to place a Deliveroo order for a kebab from Reyna to arrive at his house at the same time he does. It's his comfort food, the thing that helps ease the pain of re-entry.
