Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said Odisha's ambitious vision is to position itself among India's top five states economically by 2036, its centenary year, while ensuring quality basic amenities of bijli, sadak, and paani (electricity, roads, and water) for all citizens and jobs for after chairing a consultative workshop on 'Vision 2036 and 2047' at Lok Seva Bhawan, Majhi announced that in a first-of-its-kind initiative, Odisha has employed artificial intelligence to analyse over 3.2 lakh proposals received from citizens and non-resident Odias, adhering to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Jan Bhagidari' vision. "The vision document is a roadmap for the dreams of 4.5 crore Odias and a promise for future generations," said Majhi, revealing that the draft is nearly complete, as he nears one year of his office on June 12. The plan, dubbed '36 for 36' by the CM earlier, will implement 36 flagship programmes across various sectors, including economy, industry, education, health, and state aims to become a $500 billion economy by 2036 and reach $1.5 trillion by 2047, serving as a crucial growth engine for a developed India. The state govt envisions Odisha as India's gateway to East and South-East Asian nations through port-led development. "Infrastructure, skill development, ease of doing business — we will do everything necessary to establish industries," Majhi CM Pravati Parida highlighted the focus on women's empowerment, ensuring equal rights and safety across sectors by 2036. Law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said various stakeholders contributed to the blueprint for this state-level workshop, which saw participation from ministers, administrators, and voluntary organisations, three regional workshops are scheduled in Sambalpur, Balasore, and vision documents for 2036 and 2047 represent comprehensive plans for transforming Odisha into a prosperous, industrially advanced state while maintaining focus on quality healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities for all minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said extensive consultations were held with intellectuals, various civil organisations, social workers, educators, public representatives, environmentalists, and civil society members to finalise the Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047 document."We are collectively working towards building an Odisha that is economically prosperous and ensures social justice. The aim is to establish the state as a leader in human development indices," he said.

Bhubaneswar, May 9 (UNI) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Friday that the preparation of the "Odisha Vision 2036" document is in its final stage. A draft has already been prepared, and the final version will be completed after consultations with experts. Majhi expressed confidence that a prosperous Odisha will be realised by 2036. The Chief Minister said the aim is to transform Odisha into a $500 billion economy. Steps will be taken to ensure that even the most marginalised sections of society receive access to all essential services by 2036. Majhi made these remarks while attending the state-level 'Consultation Workshop' organized as part of the 'Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047' initiative held in Bhubaneswar. He emphasised that the vision document serves as a roadmap for the dreams of 4.5 crore Odias and represents a promise to future generations. The Chief Minister added that following the state-level workshop, three regional workshops will be held in Sambalpur, Balasore, and Jajpur to gather more inputs. Participants at Friday's workshop included experienced administrators, educators, public representatives, industry leaders, civil society members, and eminent figures from Odisha's arts, culture, and heritage sectors. They shared their views and submitted proposals to the government. Majhi revealed that 36 top-priority programs have been identified to make a meaningful impact in critical sectors by 2036. This strategic initiative is expected to accelerate Odisha's development journey. He stressed that a whole-of-government approach will be adopted to implement the programs, which will span across key sectors such as economy, industry, education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, science and research, innovation, and women's empowerment. Majhi reiterated the government's ambitious resolution to transform Odisha into a prosperous state by 2036, marking the centenary of the state's formation. He also highlighted Odisha's envisioned contribution to India's goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. 'Our Vision 2036 and 2047 documents reflect an ambitious resolve to build a prosperous, developed, and proud Odisha—a 'Developed Odisha' that will shine brightly as part of a 'Developed India,'' he stated. In alignment with the Prime Minister's 'Jan Bhagidari' initiative, Majhi noted that over 3.2 lakh suggestions have been received from citizens of Odisha and the Odia diaspora worldwide. He further emphasised that Odisha is the first state in India to use artificial intelligence for analysing public feedback and data to prepare its vision document. Majhi also mentioned that Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and Members of Parliament (MPs) have been requested to provide their valuable input, considering their extensive experience. Presiding over the meeting of the council of ministers, the chief minister said, for the centenary celebrations of formation of the state in 2036, the government has taken an ambitious resolve to make Odisha a prosperous and developed state. This will also help in achieving the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. The council of ministers decided that 'Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047' document will be finalised in consultation with public representatives, common citizens, members of civil society and intellectuals at various levels in the next 15 days by organising regional workshops at four different locations in the state. The chief minister said the government has started preparing for 'Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047' from August 2024. Inclusion, prosperity and wellness are the three pillars which form the basis of this vision document. To achieve GSDP target of $1.5 trillion by 2047 and to contribute 5 per cent to India's GDP, he said, Odisha needs to exceed and accelerate the rate of economic growth it has achieved so far. Majhi said it would be possible to finalise the draft through the well-thought-out advice and guidance of the council of ministers and accordingly an implementation plan will be charted for successful execution of the targets laid down in the Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047 documents. He stressed the need for prioritising the infrastructure growth and suggested special plans for expansion of roads and railways networks, ports and air connectivity. Chief secretary Manoj Ahuja briefed about the need for export-oriented manufacturing to achieve rapid economic growth rate and the need for deregulation, decriminalisation and digitisation for ease of doing business.

"This is both a challenge and an opportunity," said CM Majhi, emphasising the role of public-private partnerships and technological coordination in achieving these goals. The council of ministers decided that the govt will finalise the ' Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047' documents within 15 days after consulting public representatives, civil society members and intellectuals through four regional workshops across the state. Majhi said that it would be possible to finalise the draft through the well-thought-out advice and guidance of the council of ministers. "An implementation plan will be charted for the successful implementation of the targets laid down in the Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047 documents," he said. The vision document, developed in collaboration with NITI Aayog since Aug 2024, focuses on three key pillars: inclusion, prosperity and wellness. Bhubaneswar, The Odisha government has decided to finalise its vision document for 2036 and 2047 in the next 15 days after consulting with public representatives, common citizens, members of civil society and intellectuals at various levels, an official statement said on Wednesday. This decision was taken at the 7th meeting of the state council of ministers held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Odisha will complete 100 years of formation in 2036 while India will complete 100 years of independence in 2047. So, with the support of NITI Aayog, the government has started preparing for 'Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047' from August 2024, said the statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office . In his address, Majhi said that on the occasion of centenary celebrations of the formation of the state, the government has taken an ambitious resolve to make Odisha a prosperous and developed state by 2036. This will also help in achieving the goal of making our country a developed nation by 2047, he said. Inclusion, prosperity and wellness are the three pillars which form the basis of this vision document. To achieve the GSDP target of USD 1.5 trillion by 2047 and to contribute 5 per cent to India's GDP, Odisha needs to exceed and accelerate the rate of economic growth it has achieved so far, he said. "This is both a challenge as well as an opportunity. This goal can be achieved through a collaborative environment, public-private investment, implementation and coordination through technology," the CM said.
