Former Teammate Says Bo Nix and RJ Harvey Will Be 'One of the Best' QB-RB Duos in NFL

Former Teammate Says Bo Nix and RJ Harvey Will Be 'One of the Best' QB-RB Duos in NFL originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Denver Broncos have reshaped their offense throughout two seasons. With Bo Nix at the helm at quarterback and RJ Harvey the new leading running back in Denver, the offense is drastically improved. Advertisement From the view of a former college teammate of both Nix and Harvey, the duo will be "one of the best" in the NFL in 2025. In an article from Luca Evans of the Denver Post, Kobe Hudson, a former teammate of Nix and Harvey, shared his thoughts on the new Broncos quarterback and running back duo. "They will be like," Hudson said, "... one of the best quarterback-running back duos in the league, I believe, this year coming out. Like, first year [together]." Nix is entering his second year in the NFL, and Harvey will be in his rookie season. But despite the duo being in their first season together, Hudson sees the duo as one that can be among the best in the NFL. Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix (10) during the first quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs at Empower Field at Mile Chenoy-Imagn Images In Nix's rookie season, he was third in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting and had an overall incredible year. He threw for 3,775 yards with a completion percentage of 66.3. Nix also threw for 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, culminating in a passer rating of 93.3. Advertisement Harvey's final year of college was also great. He had 1,577 rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns, which tied for fourth in FBS. Harvey was also a solid receiver, hauling in 20 receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns in 2024. Around the NFL, there are plenty of great quarterback and running back duos. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens are the two standouts. Despite the tough competition, Hudson believes that his former teammates can not only be great together, but also be among the best quarterback and running back duos in the NFL in their first season together. 2025 NFL odds: Bettors backing Shedeur Sanders to win OROY

National Football League 2025 NFL odds: Bettors backing Shedeur Sanders to win OROY Published Jun. 2, 2025 5:33 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Shedeur Sanders has already made a big splash in NFL betting markets — and that's all without having played one snap of professional football. At BetMGM, the quarterback out of Colorado is the book's biggest liability for Offensive Rookie of the Year. In this spot, Sanders has both the highest ticket (10.5%) and the highest handle (23.5%). But when you look at the board, his odds are nowhere near the top to win the award. Currently, Ashton Jeanty and Cam Ward are the favorites at +250. Shedeur's Colorado teammate Travis Hunter rounds out the top three at +600. Tetairoa McMillan at +1300 and Omarion Hampton at +1400 are fourth and fifth. So where is Shedeur? He's 10th at +2200. But that hasn't stopped bettors from believing that he can bring home the hardware, and that could partially be because of the incredible stats he put up while starting at QB for the Buffaloes. In 2024, Sanders racked up 4,134 passing yards and had 37 touchdowns. Over the course of 24 games in Boulder, he went 651-for-907 passing with a total of 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Despite those lofty numbers, Sanders unceremoniously fell to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns ended up selecting him with the 144th pick, and that was after quarterbacks like Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel came off the board. ADVERTISEMENT For added context, Cleveland grabbed Gabriel off the board with the 94th pick. According to "The Herd" co-host Jason McIntyre, Sanders' draft stock likely took a hit because of his father Deion's big personality. "I'm now thinking, NFL teams and front offices were like, 'No thank you,' precisely because of this," McIntyre said regarding Hall of Famer Deion Sanders' comments on a podcast about how his son was handled during the draft. But it's not where a player falls in the draft that decides if they can earn an accolade like Rookie of the Year. Instead, it's where you end up during the season. Should Shedeur Sanders start for the Browns? And "The Herd" host Colin Cowherd likes Sanders' chances to be named QB No. 1 in Cleveland. "Despite the fact that Shedeur Sanders had the fewest attempts, he was the most efficient with the fewest reps," Cowherd said as he compared quarterbacks on the Browns' depth chart. "By a landslide, Shedeur Sanders should be starting. "I think [Joe] Flacco is going to win the starting job initially. But I'm calling it for Shedeur," he continued. "With very average personnel [at Colorado] outside of Travis Hunter, against the very best teams he played, he was highly productive." Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? Is Titans QB Cam Ward the NFL's most 'forgotten prospect?

Is Titans QB Cam Ward the NFL's most 'forgotten prospect? Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2025 NFL draft, has largely been overlooked by the entire NFL. Even on draft day, the media was more focused on what was happening with Shedeur Sanders than on talking to a guy who was a zero-star recruit out of high school that turned into the top passer in his draft class. But, that's okay with Ward, he always operates with a chip on his shoulder and this only adds fuel to the fire. The Tennessee Titans future franchise quarterback isn't being overlooked by everyone, though. Kyle Brandt has ranted on the lack of coverage of Cam Ward on multiple occasions, and now Bleacher Report named him a top-five candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year. It is rare to see the first overall pick become the forgotten prospect from his draft class. Well, that is precisely what's happening to Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward. The most gifted thrower in the 2025 class has rarely been discussed since the rookie minicamp began. The Titans are in a rebuilding phase, and Ward is essential to any turnaround. That being said, it is questionable if the team has enough offensive talent around Ward to reap the full benefits of his abilities. Ward transferred to Miami from Washington State ahead of the 2024 college football season and ended up elevating the Hurricanes to a near-ACC championship and College Football Playoff berth. He is accustomed to elevating an average supporting cast and receiving corps. Ward is tasked with repeating this in Tennessee, as Calvin Ridley is his only above-average target. The weapons around Ward are young and unproven, including three rookie wide receivers and rookie tight end Gunnar Helm. History says don't count him out, but he'll need a magical debut to overcome the roster's limitations. Bleacher Report may have added Ward to this list, but they clearly don't think he should be there based on this write-up. It's almost as if it was an obligatory add in case he comes out and shocks the NFL the way Jayden Daniels did last year, a half-hearted inclusion. The Titans don't have a lot of big names or guys you might consider superstars at their positions. What they do have is consistent and reliable players, plus added some veterans to the offensive line. Tennessee is absolutely in a rebuild, and expectations should be modest for Ward, but let's not count out what the Titans have done to provide him with weapons and protection. Despite the undertone of the comments, Ward should definitely be included in this conversation because he has just as much of a chance to blow expectations out of the water as any other rookie.

2025 Rookie Stat Prediction: Ashton Jeanty

2025 Rookie Stat Prediction: Ashton Jeanty The Las Vegas Raiders made a tempo setting move when they took Memphis running back Ashton Jeanty at the top end of round one in the 2025 NFL Draft. A Heisman finalist and one of the best players in the country, Jeanty is a slam dunk for a team wanting to forge a new identity under head coach Pete Carroll. With Las Vegas boasting a new quarterback in Geno Smith who can put up the deep ball as well as anyone in the league, Jeanty should have plenty of opportunity with teams unable to load the box against him. Given Jeanty should be the easily number one back on the team, and that he should be the tempo setting engine that makes the offense move, he should see plenty of action throughout the season and be one of the leagues most productive backs. Given his skillset and the amount of opportunity he will get, expect Jeanty to be the heavy favorite for 'Offensive Rookie of the Year' as he should be one of the top producers at his position. Prediction: 1,300 rush yards, 550 receiving yards, 14 touchdowns

Vikings see some changes and familiar faces in 2009 NFL Re-Draft

Vikings see some changes and familiar faces in 2009 NFL Re-Draft It can be tough looking at re-drafts of past NFL drafts. If the player from your favorite team played well, there's a good chance he goes higher in the re-draft, and you're stuck getting a less-talented player in the exercise. Even more painful is if your team drafted a bust, passing on countless starting-caliber players in the process. Re-drafts can add salt to those wounds. Rarely do we see players slotted to the same position they were drafted, especially the further down the draft board you go. But in PFF's 2009 re-draft, the Minnesota Vikings do just that, landing do-it-all Florida receiver Percy Harvin at pick No. 22, just like they did 16 years ago. Harvin's career was cut short, but he was elite in his first four seasons with the Vikings. He earned PFF receiving grades of 83.4, 87.0, 87.9 and 92.1, thanks to his game-breaking speed. He had the talent to be known as one of the most electric players the league has ever seen, but injuries and concussions derailed that vision. It's tough to argue the pick, especially when considering the type of weapon the Vikings needed in 2009. While Sidney Rice stretched the field like a traditional receiver and Adrian Peterson bruised defenses up the gut, Harvin brought a horizontal element to the offense. He was used on end-arounds, reverses, and screens, attacking defenses underneath, gaining 925 yards and six touchdowns from scrimmage in 2009. Harvin was also a dangerous weapon in the return game, taking two kickoffs to the house as a rookie. He was selected as the 2009 Offensive Rookie of the Year, a steal at pick 22. If only he could have had better quarterback play and better injury luck, perhaps we could have seen Harvin in purple for more than his four years. Instead, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 before bouncing around the league, retiring after the 2016 season. His fellow 2009 draft classmate, tackle Phil Loadholt, also got selected in the re-draft. Originally the 54th overall pick out of Oklahoma, Loadholt was picked 30th overall by the Tennessee Titans in this draft. Loadholt started 15 games as a rookie and 78 of 80 possible games to begin his career before injuries started to affect his availability in 2014. He retired after a preseason injury in 2015.
