Linkin Park Held Back From Returning To No. 1 With New Deluxe Album
Linkin Park's From Zero returns to multiple charts in the U.K. following its deluxe reissue, and it ... More almost hits No. 1 on one list, but Bury Tomorrow wins. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - MARCH 17: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) (L-R) Emily Armstrong, Joe Hahn, Mike Shinoda, and Colin Brittain of Linkin Park attend the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 17, 2025. Broadcasted live on FOX. (Photo byfor iHeartRadio) Linkin Park's comeback album From Zero is a major commercial success again in the United Kingdom this week, thanks to a huge uptick in interest, which was sparked by the release of a deluxe edition of the title. The reissue has led to a growth in both streams and sales of the beloved hard rock effort. From Zero, which originally dropped in fall 2024, currently appears on seven U.K. charts. It reenters four of them and climbs on the rest. The bestselling project nearly hits No. 1 on one tally, but is blocked from the top spot by some hometown favorites. From Zero rockets from No. 10 to No. 2 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. Linkin Park nearly reclaims control of the genre-specific ranking, which focuses solely on the bestselling full-lengths and EPs in rock and metal, but the group misses out on doing so, as a brand new entry keeps the band from landing at No. 1. English metalcore outfit Bury Tomorrow debuts its new release Will You Haunt Me, with That Same Patience in first place. The project becomes the group's fourth leader on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart and seventh top 10 win, which accounts for the entirety of the band's charting successes. While From Zero doesn't reclaim the throne on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, it has already enjoyed a hugely successful run there. The set opened at No. 1 in late November 2024 and held the top spot for eight consecutive frames. In the more than six months since its arrival, it has fallen outside the top 10 only once. Linkin Park pushes its latest full-length back onto four tallies this week, driven by a surge in total consumption, and, seemingly, particularly in sales. The project reenters the top 10 on both the Official Album Downloads and Official Vinyl Albums rankings, landing at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. It also finds its way back to the Official Albums list and the Official Albums Streaming roster. While not charting as high on those rankings, From Zero comes in at Nos. 23 and 65, respectively, after not appearing on either of those rosters just a short time ago. There are three charts where From Zero doesn't need to return, including the Official Rock & Metal Albums ranking. Linkin Park also climbs back into the top 10 on both the Official Albums Sales list (No. 6) and the Official Physical Albums roster (No. 7), jumping more than 60 spots on each.

Metallica's Album Is About To Make History
Metallica's self-titled album has now spent 999 weeks on the U.K.'s Official Rock & Metal Albums ... More chart, nearing a historic 1,000-week milestone. (MANDATORY CREDIT Koh Hasebe/) Metallica in photo session at a hotel, Tokyo, November 1986. (Photo by Koh Hasebe/) Metallica — the self-titled album from the legendary heavy metal band — certainly ranks among the most commercially successful hard rock projects ever released. At the time of its debut, the collection was recognized as a genre-defining masterpiece. Decades later, it has proved its staying power, and both the project as a whole and numerous singles from the effort are still celebrated today. The full-length continues to sell around the world and is now inching closer to making history on one specific list where it has already held on for years. The album, named after the band, reappears on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. It stands as Metallica's only title currently featured on the U.K.-based ranking, which tracks the bestselling full-lengths and EPs within the rock and metal genres in that country. This frame is a particularly special one for the band's blockbuster effort. Metallica has now spent 999 weeks on the list as it reappears. If it can remain for just one more frame — or even disappear and return, as is often the case for the title — it will become Metallica's first release to reach 1,000 weeks on the tally. The self-titled album is already Metallica's longest-charting success on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart by a wide margin. Only one other Metallica release, Master of Puppets, has spent triple-digit frames on the tally. That set is now up to 144 appearances. While Metallica may soon become the group's first release to notch 1,000 weeks on the ranking, it won't be the first to hit that landmark on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart when looking at all acts. Three other studio efforts have already achieved that feat, and are still present this frame. Nirvana's Nevermind leads with 1,450 weeks, followed by Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses with 1,220. Linkin Park's debut full-length Hybrid Theory recently passed the 1,000-week threshold as well. Metallica — the band's fifth full-length — was released in August 1991. The sound featured on the set marked a shift for the group, slowing things down and embracing a more commercially-viable approach. The album features smashes like 'Enter Sandman' and 'Nothing Else Matters,' which remain two of the Grammy winners' most beloved tunes. In fact, 'Enter Sandman' is still taking up space on the rankings to this day. The single dips a few spots on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart this frame, settling at No. 17.

Pink Floyd's Classic Album Brings The Band To A Milestone Its Only Seen Once Before
Pink Floyd scored a new No. 1 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart in the United Kingdom just last week. The group's Live at Pompeii - MCMLXXII debuted atop the list, adding to its already-impressive run of bestselling titles in the genre. While that live recording begins to descend, the band has another reason to celebrate on the same ranking this frame as an older collection reaches a landmark figure — one that Pink Floyd has only achieved once before. Wish You Were Here celebrates its five hundred and fiftieth frame on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. As it reaches that impressive milestone, the set climbs 10 spots, jumping from No. 35 to No. 25. Surprisingly, despite spending more than a decade on the tally, it has never reached the summit. Instead, it has thus far peaked at No. 3. Pink Floyd has now seen two efforts hit the 550-week milestone on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. The only other release to do so is The Dark Side of the Moon, which not only reached that figure, but long ago passed it. That bestseller still stands as the group's longest-charting success, winning over Wish You Were Here by exactly 100 weeks as of this stretch. Only a handful of other Pink Floyd projects have crossed into triple-digit territory on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. The Wall recently passed 500 appearances. Animals has spent 148 frames on the list, while A Foot in the Door: The Best of Pink Floyd has racked up 123 turns. This week, the legendary rockers occupy four spots on the Official Rock & Metal Albums ranking. Two of those efforts, including Wish You Were Here, make notable gains. The Wall also ascends, rising from No. 38 to No. 29. Meanwhile, The Dark Side of the Moon holds steady at No. 13. Live at Pompeii, after debuting at No. 1, slips slightly to No. 3 in its second frame.

Linkin Park Scores Several Top-Selling Albums As Classics And New Titles Return
Linkin Park charts four albums in the U.K. this week, with Papercuts holding steady and Hybrid ... More Theory, Meteora, and From Zero all reentering. HAMBURG, GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 22: (EDITOR'S NOTE: alternative crop) Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong of Linkin Park perform at Barclays Arena on September 22, 2024 in Hamburg, Germany. (Photo by Joern Pollex/Redferns) This week on the music charts in the United Kingdom, Linkin Park sees four albums appear on at least one tally apiece. All but one of them land on multiple lists. The fact that the group — which is only actively promoting one of the efforts — sees so many titles appear on the rosters is impressive. What's even more notable this time around is that all but one of those projects reappears. Some of them bounce back onto multiple tallies, while one breaks back in on just a single list. The consumption of Linkin Park's music is always high, but with Record Store Day releases disappearing from the weekly rankings in the U.K., there's more room for holdovers like the hard rock outfit's continued and constant bestsellers. Among all three of Linkin Park's comebacks, the group's most recent full-length is the big winner. From Zero — which returned the musicians from a hiatus of more than half a decade — reenters both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts at No. 43. In a bit of coincidence and yet another show of neverending popularity, Hybrid Theory — the full-length that started it all — also manages to reappear on both the general sales ranking and the list that concerns itself only with the bestselling titles on CD, vinyl, and cassette. Hybrid Theory lands on those two tallies once more at No. 60. It's not terribly uncommon for the same album to appear in the same position on these two rosters…though it's far more frequently seen that efforts come in just a few spaces apart and don't land in the exact spot on multiple lists, due to a variety of sales factors. Meteora is Linkin Park's third and final comeback on the U.K. rankings this time around. It breaks back onto the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart in last place at No. 40. The title is also celebrating a major milestone, as it reaches 400 weeks somewhere on the U.K.'s ranking of the bestselling full-lengths and EPs in those styles. Linkin Park fills a trio of spots on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. As Meteora returns, both From Zero and Hybrid Theory bounce back into the top 10. The newest of the bunch jumps from No. 11 to No. 5, while the group's groundbreaking debut full-length bolts from No. 14 to No. 9. In addition to all of Linkin Park's comebacks, one collection holds on, as even Record Store Day couldn't push it off the charts. Papercuts – Singles Collection 2000–2023 is still present, just as it was last frame, and it appears on two tallies that From Zero, Hybrid Theory and Meteora do not reach. It keeps at No. 29 on the Official Albums chart, a general consumption ranking of the most popular efforts in the country. It also drops just a few spots on the Official Albums Streaming tally, as fans continue to flock to platforms like Spotify to listen to Linkin Park's most successful tunes, which are gathered together on this compilation. The set was released in early 2024, just a few months before the band began promoting From Zero.

Led Zeppelin Reaches A Special Milestone For The First Time
Led Zeppelin's Four Symbols reenters the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart at No. 27, marking its ... More six hundredth week on the tally, a new record for the band. Led Zeppelin 1975 Jimmy Page Earls Court (Photo by Chris Walter/WireImage) Led Zeppelin is experiencing a modest but notable resurgence on the charts in the United Kingdom at the moment. The group's comeback would be welcome and notable for nearly any rock outfit, let alone one that's been as popular as the musicians have and for as long. Led Zeppelin doesn't have new work out, either. These returns are with decades-old material, which only fell away recently, and which loves to bounce back to the tallies with regularity. Last week was particularly eventful on the charts in the United Kingdom, thanks in part to Record Store Day releases. As many of those special titles fade, classics resurface — and Led Zeppelin is benefiting from that shift. The legendary rock outfit sees both a bestselling album and one of its most famous songs return to the rankings in the U.K., with the full collection even reaching a significant milestone. The band's untitled album — commonly referred to as Led Zeppelin IV, but officially listed by the Official Charts Company as Four Symbols — returns to the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. The set is a top 40 bestseller again as it reenters at No. 27. Four Symbols isn't just back, though. It celebrates a major milestone as it finds space on the genre-specific list once more. The collection has now spent 600 weeks on this specific tally, and this frame marks the first time a Led Zeppelin title has hit the 600-week milestone on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart. In fact, no other release in Led Zeppelin's discography has come close to that huge number. The next longest-running success from the group on the Official Rock & Metal Albums list is Mothership, with 380 frames on the roster. The band's self-titled debut has logged 269 weeks, while its follow-up, Led Zeppelin II, follows closely behind with 254 frames. As Four Symbols returns, so too does the most celebrated song from its tracklist. 'Stairway to Heaven' is back on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. Even though it wasn't officially released as a single from the project, the tune has now spent 628 weeks on the ranking. It reappears at No. 40 this frame, the lowest spot on the list, but has previously soared as high as No. 3. Led Zeppelin released the Four Symbols in 1971. While several cuts from the effort, including 'Black Dog,' 'Rock and Roll,' and 'Going to California,' were promoted as singles, it was 'Stairway to Heaven' that stole the show, and it's that track continues to fuel the album's performance on the charts to this day.
