Linkin Park Dominates One Chart As An Early-Career Smash Returns
This week is the biggest in a while for Linkin Park when it comes to the music charts in the United Kingdom. The hard rock group has four albums on at least one list apiece, and multiple bestsellers return to tallies as fans in that country turn to not only the group's debut full-length, but also its most recent.
Linkin Park doesn't only perform well when it comes to albums. The Grammy-winning act also dominates one singles tally – not by landing at No. 1 but by soaring with a career's worth of hits.
Linkin Park Scores Half a Dozen Rock Hits
Linkin Park fills half a dozen spots on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. The tally, which looks specifically at the bestselling tracks in rock or metal in the U.K., only features 40 spaces, so this frame LP occupies 15% of all available real estate.
'Numb,' 'Somewhere I Belong' and 'The Emptiness Machine'
Five of Linkin Park's current wins rise from where they sat last week. 'Numb,' 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'The Emptiness Machine,' 'What I've Done,' and 'Faint' lift to Nos. 11, 20, 23, 28, and 38, respectively.
Of that bunch, 'Numb' enjoys the grandest climb, as it ascends from No. 17 to No. 11. 'Faint,' meanwhile, only steps up one spot.
'One Step Closer' Reappears
'One Step Closer' joins the rising Linkin Park cuts as it finds its way back to the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. This time around, the early-career smash reappears in last place, at No. 40.
'The Emptiness Machine' Nears Its First Year
Of Linkin Park's half-dozen current placements on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, only 'The Emptiness Machine' has yet to crack a full year on the tally – though it likely will in the coming weeks. 'Numb' stands out as the group's longest-running success, as it recently passed 900 frames on the genre-specific roster.
Hybrid Theory and From Zero Return
Both Hybrid Theory and From Zero return to a trio of U.K.-based charts this week. From Zero, Linkin Park's comeback set that arrived in late 2024, also lives on one other list, while Hybrid Theory, the full-length that brought Linkin Park to global superstardom decades ago, sits on and rises on as many rankings as it rocks back onto.
The compilation Papercuts, which arrived only a few months before From Zero, lifts on two rankings, while Meteora ascends on only the rock tally.
