The Beatles Bring Several Beloved Singles Back To The Charts
The Beatles' 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' and "Now and Then" both become bestsellers again in the ... More U.K., as the two singles return to sales charts this week. (Original Caption) The Beatles are shown at a press conference at the Warwick Hotel. Standing left to right are: Ringo Starr, (wearing polka dot shirt), Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison. These days, when it comes to sales and streaming charts, The Beatles are more successful with albums. That's common among legacy acts, as fans tend to focus their attention on the full-lengths that originally propelled the musical icons to superstardom, as well as compilations that assemble their most familiar singles. The Fab Four regularly appears on multiple album rankings in the United Kingdom, where the rock legends remain most popular. While the focus is usually on albums, interest in several Beatles cuts grew last week. The band manages to push a number of tunes back onto different lists, scoring multiple bestsellers long after most music fron the rockers was released. The Beatles currently appear inside the top 40 on two separate sales rankings in the U.K. One of the group's oldest tunes, 'I Want to Hold Your Hand,' is a true bestseller once again. The track reenters the Official Vinyl Singles chart at No. 23. It lands just one spot lower, at No. 24, on the Official Physical Singles chart, which includes not only vinyl purchases, but also CDs and cassettes. On that roster, The Beatles don't merely bounce back — they soar from second-to-last place (No. 99) into the top 40. The band fills a pair of spaces on the Official Physical Singles chart this frame. 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' jumps more than 70 positions, while 'Now and Then' returns at No. 56. That comeback tune, marketed as the final release by The Beatles, was completed with the help of artificial intelligence and dropped in late 2023. 'Now and Then' was a quick No. 1 on seemingly every ranking it touched, including the Official Physical Singles chart. 'I Want to Hold Your Hand,' however, has never managed to conquer either of the tallies on which it appears. It has come close, peaking at No. 2 in the several months it has been present on these rosters — which didn't exist when The Beatles first shared the song more than half a century ago.

Chappell Roan's Track Record Is Perfect On One Chart — And That's Where She Returns
Chappell Roan's successes just keep coming. The pop singer and newly-crowned Grammy winner became a household name more than a year ago, as her first full-length and the singles featured on it – as well as one particularly important standalone release – began dominating streaming platforms just like many of today's young stars. But Roan has proven she's not just another viral sensation. She's also become a powerhouse when it comes to selling physical music, particularly on vinyl – a format many of her peers rarely impact. She scores several vinyl bestsellers in the United Kingdom this week as multiple smashes return to the same list. Roan is back inside the top 10 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart in the U.K., the list that tracks the bestselling individual songs on wax in the nation. This frame, she brings both "Pink Pony Club" and "Good Luck, Babe!" back to the uppermost tier. Neither cut appeared anywhere on the tally last week, but now they return at Nos. 8 and 10, respectively. Roan has only sent two songs to the Official Vinyl Singles chart so far — and both have hit No. 1 at some point. For the moment, her record on the list remains flawless. Between the two, "Good Luck, Babe!" is the longer-running success, as it's now spent 31 frames somewhere on the ranking. "Pink Pony Club" has managed about half as many appearances, with this latest frame marking its fourteenth on the roster. Both "Pink Pony Club" and "Good Luck, Babe!" are charting across six different tallies each in the U.K. right now. Of the two, "Pink Pony Club" is the bigger winner at the moment, as it is currently living inside the top 10 on every single one of those rankings. Most impressively, it holds at No. 2 on the Official Singles chart — the most important overall songs roster in the country. "Good Luck, Babe!" continues to impress as well, remaining inside the top 40 after more than a year of activity on that same list. Roan's success isn't limited to singles. Her only full-length, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, also makes a triumphant return this week to one roster. The set reappears at No. 40 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, becoming a bestseller once again after previously peaking at No. 1.

Post Malone Earns His First No. 1 With Some Help From A Famous Friend
Post Malone and Taylor Swift's "Fortnight" reaches to No. 1 on three U.K. sales charts, including a ... More debut appearance atop the Official Vinyl Singles list. ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: (L-R) Taylor Swift and Post Malone attend the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo byfor MTV) Post Malone is having a massive week on the U.K. charts, and he has Taylor Swift –and a new vinyl pressing – to thank for some of his success. The multi-genre superstar is back at No. 1 on several rankings with the blockbuster duet 'Fortnight,' and the song even earns him a brand new chart-topper on a list that had previously eluded him completely. 'Fortnight' finds its way back to the summit on two tallies in the U.K. The hit collaboration returns to No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Physical Singles charts, both of which track pure purchases in different formats. The same cut also launches atop the Official Vinyl Singles chart, becoming the bestselling individual song on wax in the U.K. this week. That's a new placement for the track — and a milestone for Malone. Despite his global fame and chart dominance across multiple other rankings, Malone had never appeared on the Official Vinyl Singles chart before this week. That changes as 'Fortnight' doesn't just break onto the ranking, it debuts at No. 1. It's not often that musicians open in first place with their first wins on any roster, let alone a sales-focused list. 'Fortnight' has now appeared on the Official Physical Singles chart in only two weeks — and both times it's run the show. The single debuted at No. 1 back in May 2024 before vanishing entirely from the tally. Nearly a year later, it's back at No. 1 once again. That isn't quite the case when it comes to the Official Singles Sales chart. On that roster, 'Fortnight' started at No. 8, then quickly climbed to No. 1 the following frame. Over the past year, it has now spent 18 weeks on that ranking in total, with just two of them in the top spot. 'Fortnight' is back following another hugely successful edition of Record Store Day. The song was reissued as a white 7-inch vinyl, featuring the original duet on one side and a remix on the other. The limited-edition pressing instantly became a collectible for fans of both Swift and Malone – which means, to a lot of people. The smash also returns to the main U.K. singles ranking. This week, the cut reappears at No. 29 on the Official Singles chart, the country's primary list of the most popular tracks. While not a new peak – it's already topped the tally – it's an impressive resurgence for a tune that many assumed had run its course.

Avicii Earns His First Hit, 'Ryu,' On One Chart Years After His Passing
Avicii's early track 'Ryu' debuts on three U.K. charts thanks to a Record Store Day vinyl reissue, ... More marking his first appearance on the Vinyl Singles list. Swedish DJ Avicii (Tim Bergling), portrait in Stockhom, 4th July 2011. (Photo by Richard Ecclestone/Redferns) It's been six years since the world lost Avicii, but the superstar DJ and producer's music remains a favorite among million of listeners. Just a few months ago, when Netflix rolled out several films connected to the Swedish musician, his catalog soared. Now, just a short time after scoring multiple new posthumous wins, one of the artist's oldest tunes – one which only diehard supporters will remember from when it was new – has become a hit in the United Kingdom. 'Ryu' — a track originally released before Avicii became a household name — debuts on a trio of charts in the U.K. this frame. On the Official Physical Singles ranking, the tune launches at No. 37. It appears in the exact same spot on the Official Vinyl Singles list. When it comes to the Official Singles Sales roster, which includes all purchased tracks regardless of medium, 'Ryu' enters a bit lower, starting at No. 74. With 'Ryu' now officially present on the charts, Avicii scores his nineteenth hit on the Official Singles Sales ranking. So far, the producer has sent just four tunes to the Official Physical Singles tally throughout his career. His presence on that list is fairly sparse, but still growing to this day, years after his passing. This week marks the very first time Avicii has appeared on the Official Vinyl Singles chart. That may come as a surprise, given how popular vinyl has become in recent years, but 'Ryu' is his inaugural hit on the format-specific roster. Despite being new to the U.K. rankings, 'Ryu' is not actually a brand new song. The track was first released all the way back in 2009, when Avicii was only just becoming a rising name in the EDM world. At the time, he hadn't yet broken through on a global level, but cuts like this one helped him build the following that would later support his massive commercial success. The track becomes a hit as it was reissued for Record Store Day in the U.K. The limited-edition re-release seems to have reignited interest in the sometimes-forgotten tune, and it may now be in the hands of not just those who loved it when it first dropped, but also some fans who fell in love with Avicii with his global wins, and are now looking to connect with him and his work in any way they can. According to the official listing for the Record Store Day release, a portion of the profits from the vinyl sales will benefit Papyrus, a U.K. charity dedicated to preventing suicide among young people. Avicii, born Tim Bergling, died by suicide in 2018 at the age of 28. Since then, his family has worked to support mental health initiatives, such as this special re-release of one of his earliest singles.

David Gilmour Charts His First Top 10 Single — With His Daughter
David Gilmour and daughter Romany debut at No. 8 on two U.K. singles charts with 'Between Two ... More Points,' which also earns a new peak on a third ranking. David Gilmour performs in support of his "On An Island" release at the Paramount Theatre on April 16, 2006 in Oakland, California. (Photo by) David Gilmour can almost always be found on a variety of charts in the United Kingdom, though it's usually with the band that changed the look and sound of rock music forever: Pink Floyd. This week, he's back on the rankings under his own name — as well as with the group – and he's winning with a family affair. The guitarist's recent single debuts inside the top 10 on several U.K. rosters, becoming a proper smash on multiple lists at once. While the rocker is used to huge wins on the charts, this time, he's brought his daughter Romany along, and she joins him in the commercial success. 'Between Two Points' is a single taken from Luck and Strange, Gilmour's fifth full-length solo album. The set arrived back in September 2024 and was an immediate commercial and critical success in the U.K. Months after the project's release, Luck and Strange is still producing wins. 'Between Two Points' sees Gilmour collaborating with his daughter Romany, and while the song itself has been out for more than half a year, it's only just become a smash on a handful of tallies across the Atlantic. This week, 'Between Two Points' enters both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts. It starts in a lofty position on both lists, debuting at No. 8. 'Between Two Points' also returns to the Official Singles Sales chart this frame. It reappears at No. 10, giving both Gilmour and his daughter their first top 10 hit on that specific list. That's a new high point for the tune, which had previously only climbed as high as No. 48. Back in September 2024, when it was initially released, the track spent just two weeks on the tally — first at No. 78, then slightly higher, before vanishing. 'Between Two Points' is one of many songs that hit the charts in the U.K. thanks to Record Store Day 2025. The cut was reissued as a clear 12-inch vinyl, and the special, newly-minted version includes four tracks, which are all actually different iterations of the same song. The two Gilmours faced a lot of competition from other exciting offerings made available exclusively for the music industry holiday, and 'Between Two Points' is one of the top performers. While Gilmour has appeared on countless U.K. charts over the years — both solo and with Pink Floyd — top 10 solo hits are still fairly rare for him. 'Between Two Points' becomes just his second appearance inside the top 10 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart under his own name. The track also earns Gilmour just his third top 10 on the Official Physical Singles tally.
