Four masked men allegedly rob Ogden man after woman leads them to residence, charges say
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. OGDEN, Utah () — Four people have been charged after an alleged robbery and assault in Ogden. Police say that a woman asked to visit the victim, then had four masked men break in and rob him at gunpoint. Crissa Courtney Shaw, 25, Ayden Anthony Valencia, 19, and Carter Cory Jones, 27, have all been charged with felony aggravated robbery and felony aggravated assault. Anthony Joseph Lilly, 19, has been charged with conspiring to commit aggravated robbery, obstruction of justice, and conspiring to commit aggravated assault. Three men charged after alleged robbery at gunpoint during house party, documents say According to documents, on May 13, 2025, Ogden Police officers were called to the 800 block of Wood Street in Ogden. A victim reported that he had been attacked and robbed by a group of people. Shaw, who was previously in a relationship with the victim, had called the victim and asked him if she could come to his residence, documents say. Almost immediately after she went into the home, four masked men entered the residence and came downstairs. According to police, the victim saw that one of the men was carrying a machete, another had a short-barreled rifle, and a third had a handgun. The man with the rifle told the victim that if he 'tried anything,' he would 'shoot him in the leg.' The four masked men stole multiple items from the victim's residence, including jewelry, electronics, tools, and keys. Shaw left with one of the male suspects while the victim was held at gunpoint and his home was ransacked. Prisoners briefly evacuated after fire at Salt Lake County Metro Jail After the robbery, the group left together in a dark blue passenger car that was missing a rear driver's side hubcap, as identified on security footage. Surveillance video captured the vehicle in several places around Ogden City on the night of the robbery. Shaw was located and arrested by police first. She was charged on May 19 and is being held in the Weber County Jail. A search warrant was served for her phone, and photos of a man wearing a hat seen on surveillance footage were found on the device. Ogden officers were able to track down Jones due to the distinct hat he was wearing, and they identified his blue Honda Civic as the vehicle used to flee the scene. He was arrested on May 20 and charged the next day. During the investigation, Valencia was identified as a possible suspect. Police served a search warrant on his phone and located a conversation from the day before the robbery between him and Lilly. Valencia told Lilly that he had a 'lick' planned and discussed acquiring firearms and ammunition. Riverton teen allegedly shoots uncle three times during dispute, police say A search of Lilly's house revealed that he had a firearm concealed in cat litter. He was arrested and later charged on June 5 for his role in the robbery. While at the jail, he allegedly made a call and instructed someone on wiping information from his phone remotely. Valencia admitted to police that he had been involved in the robbery and assault. He was charged on June 5, and he said that he had brandished a firearm at the victim while the robbery was occurring. Shaw, Jones, Lilly, and Valencia have all been booked into the Weber County Jail and are being held without bail. Neither charges nor an arrest have been filed against the fourth masked individual involved in the robbery. 7-year-old boy and his sister found safe in car after apparent joyride for McDonald's
A 7-year-old boy in Utah took his sister for a joyride in their family's car, and it was all reportedly in the hunt for a Happy Meal. On the morning of April 27, police in Ogden, Utah, said they responded to a call of a reckless driver who appeared to be a child. Officers located a disabled vehicle after it had crashed into a parking strip, Ogden Police said in a release. The driver, a 7-year-old boy, and his younger sister were found unharmed nearby, police said. An investigation found that the boy had driven about 10 miles from nearby Clearfield after he "had taken a family vehicle without parental knowledge," the release said. In an interview with local outlet ABC4, the child's mother, Whitney Bush, said her son had been planning to go to McDonald's. USA TODAY attempted to reach Bush for comment. Bush told ABC4 that she woke up on April 27 to find her car and children missing before finding out about the crash. 'I don't think anybody wakes up in the morning or goes through their day thinking their 7-year-old is going to play 'Grand Theft Auto' with their vehicle,' she told the outlet. She said her son was planning to go to McDonald's and had his money prepared, though he never made it to the fast food restaurant. 'I'm not proud of him by any means,' Bush said. 'He's in a world of trouble, he's probably grounded for the rest of his life.' Ogden Police said no charges are being pursued against the boy due to his age. Suspect arrested in Washington linked to two decades-old Ogden sexual assault cases
OGDEN, Utah () — A suspect arrested in Washington State has been linked to two Ogden sexual assaults that have been cold for nearly 30 years. Jerald Leroy McAdams, 68, was found thanks to recent DNA advancements, according to the Ogden City Police Department. He now faces felony aggravated kidnapping and rape charges in two separate cases in the Beehive State. According to Ogden Police, McAdams has been linked to two sexual assaults – one that took place in 1994 and a second that took place just three years later in 1997. In the first case, investigators say a 16-year-old victim was offered a ride by an unknown male on Dec. 13, 1994, near 26th Street and Eccles Avenue. The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-thirties with shoulder-length reddish-brown hair and a full beard. The suspect reportedly took the girl, drove her to a secluded location and sexually assaulted her against her will. A second victim reported being kidnapped and sexually assaulted in September 1997. The suspect reportedly offered the girl money to help find an address in Ogden. When she got into his car, the suspect drove her to a secluded area and assaulted her. Ogden investigators said the second victim was later able to identify the suspect as McAdams, but due to a procedural issue, the charges were eventually dismissed without prejudice. In September 2023, nearly 30 years later, the Utah Bureau of Forensic Services notified the Ogden Police Department that DNA evidence from the 1994 assault returned a match in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database. The match allegedly identified Jerald Leroy McAdams as a suspect in the sexual assault. 'Further investigation revealed that McAdams had a history of similar offenses, including a 1999 conviction for kidnapping and sexual assault in Centralia, Washington, where he was sentenced to prison,' Ogden PD said in a media release. 'His DNA was entered into the national database during his incarceration, leading to the recent match.' In April 2025, detectives worked with the Weber County Attorney's Office to secure an arrest warrant for McAdams, who was living in Washington State. Ogden detectives then traveled to Washington and, with the help of the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, safely apprehended McAdams. McAdams is currently booked into the Lewis County Jail in Washington and is awaiting extradition to Utah to face charges connected to the 1994 and 1997 cases. With the case reopened, the Ogden City Police Investigations Bureau is looking for anyone who may have reported incidents in the past allegedly involving McAdams or have any information about his time in Weber County from 1991 to 1998. 'We urge anyone with information about McAdams or other potential victims to come forward,' Ogden police said.
