Where to get the best mocktails in Abu Dhabi
For cocktail lovers, Abu Dhabi's bar scene has options for days, but what about those of us who want all the flavour, hold the alcohol? Whether you're driving, detoxing, or just not into the booze scene, there's no reason your drink should feel 'basic'. Thankfully, more and more spots across the capital are taking their mocktails seriously; crisp, creative, and just as good as the real thing (if not better). From garden-inspired mixes to spice-laced refreshers, here's where to get the best Mocktails in Abu Dhabi when you want a proper drink minus the alcohol. La Petite Maison (LPM) This elegant French-Mediterranean spot at The Galleria ticks all the right boxes: refined interiors and water views from a dreamy terrace. But beyond the classics, LPM has quietly built one of the city's most impressive mocktail menus. It's 16 drinks deep, featuring everything from black lemonade to zero-proof espresso martinis. The Limonade Noire is a standout; rosemary-infused honey, verjuice, activated charcoal, and soda water. It's unexpected in the best way. On the lighter side, Pomme-Basilic mixes green apple cordial, fresh basil, and sparkling water. 'Urgent review' promised after two men fall from car park in two months
The managing company of a Liverpool city centre car park said it is conducting an "urgent review" after two men fell from the structure in two months. Concerned people have called for barriers and improved security at the ParkBee Liverpool Central Village car park in Heathfield Street, following the tragedies. Josh Perry, 21, fell to his death from the multi-storey at around 6.20pm on Friday, March 14. Less than a month later another man, also aged in his 20s, was left fighting for life after falling from the multi-storey on Thursday, April 3. Emergency services were called at around 5.40pm, and the man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital. As news of the incident broke, several people called for stronger safety measures at the car park, which is operated by London-based parking company ParkBee. Oii posted on the ECHO website: "When are the owners of this car park going to put in infrastructure to prevent people going over the side? Three people now, it needs to be sorted." On Facebook, Kei Mkweli said: "You'd think they'd put some barriers or netting up on that car park". Aesthetics RebeccaScarlett said: "Another one, so young as well. Hope he pulls through. That car park seriously needs safety fencing or grills." Johnny Santer's son Gabriel, 15, died after falling from the top of the Q Park multi-storey car park in Hanover Street in October 2020. He contacted ParkBee in 2023 after a woman fell to her death from the building, as he hoped to discuss security changes and to ask what would be done to make the facility safer. But he said he was given a stock answer by a senior official and told this would be followed up with further responses that never materialised. He previously told the ECHO: "It's difficult to articulate the frustration, anger and despair that we feel when here we are, not even two years after the last death from this very same multi-storey car park, asking ourselves 'How can this be happening in our city, once again?' "The legal minimum requirement for all buildings, including multi-storey car parks, which we tragically know have a long and desperate history of people falling from, is just 1.1m- this is not safe. "What happened after the death of the young lady in 2023 in terms of internal reviews, risk assessments, suicide prevention strategy and how have they let another death happen again?" ParkBee managing director Godfried Barnasconi told the ECHO "the safety of our visitors is and remains our highest priority". He said: "We are deeply saddened to learn of another tragic incident at the Liverpool Central Village car park. First and foremost, our thoughts are with the man in question in the upcoming recovery and remain with the families and loved ones affected. "We treat these events with the utmost seriousness, and continue to work closely with the authorities, with whom we are fully cooperating. As before, it is our understanding that the police have deemed the matter non-suspicious. "The safety of our visitors is and remains our highest priority — we remain fully compliant with all relevant laws and regulations and continue to regularly assess and strengthen our safety protocols, including suicide prevention measures. We are urgently reviewing the circumstances surrounding this latest incident to determine if any additional actions are necessary."
