Sixers rookie VJ Edgecombe reveals who he patterns his game after

Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe, selected No. 3 overall in the 2025 draft, is looking to make an impact in the City of Brotherly Love right away. He has the athleticism, defensive skills, and finishing ability on offense to where he can produce at a high level right away. Even though he only played two games in the summer league as he was limited to a left thumb sprain, he showed what he is able to do at a high level. Edgecombe showed off an ability to get to the basket--and the free-throw line--as well as make an impact on the glass and to be able to produce on both ends of the floor. He looks like a two-way player right away. On the latest episode of "Podcast P with Paul George", Edgecombe spoke with his new teammate about the players he patterns his game after: (Victor) Oladipo when he was with the Pacers. D-Wade (Dwyane Wade). I watch, like, currently in the league, I watch a lot of Ant (Anthony Edwards). I watch a lot of Ant, but I watch everybody for real. Like, I watch defensive clips. I'm watching Jrue Holiday, Derrick White. Like, I'm watching them! Just trying to learn both ends of the floor. So, yeah, they're amazing. If Edgecombe is watching guys like Oladipo and Wade--which, by the way, was the exact NBA comparisons Sixers Wire made for Edgecombe--then he is going to be in a great position. It's obvious that he wants to learn and be a great player in this league and watching and learning from some of the game's greats is only going to help him move forward as a young player in this league.

Pacers watched Victor Oladipo in Las Vegas, but don't seem involved in former star's comeback

Former Pacers All-Star and IU All-American Victor Oladipo is attempting a comeback after spending the past two years out of the league. Oladipo held workouts in Las Vegas during NBA Summer League and Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan acknowledged the Pacers had scouts there. However Buchanan did not indicate the Pacers would be in particularly hot pursuit of Oladipo's services. "As a scouting staff it's our job to keep tabs on every potential player walking the planet that could potentially help us," Buchanan told Alex Golden on "Setting the Pace" podcast this week. "We, like other teams, out in Vegas probably saw Victor. We weren't the only team out there to evaluate him to see where he's at. "Obviously, we have a history with Victor. We're always going to be looking for, if it's the right player at the right time that fits us, we're going to have to consider it whether it's Victor or not. Many teams watched along with us. We get tied to him because he's a former player of ours. I don't think we're any different than any other team that watched him out there." LISTEN TO THE FULL PODCAST BELOW:

His post this week on social media: "I feel so great right now!! Better than I felt in the last 7 years mind, body and soul. I know I am a fighter! I know I am a warrior! I have seen every lens this game and this league has to offer. I know I can help any team in any role win in any way! I also know the people want to see me succeed in this game and play at the highest level again. My injuries are behind me and it will never happen again! I am at peace with that and my past. I'm ready to build a present now and future of a life time. I want to share my story and my journey and give it back to the people because without them there would be no VeO.
