Old Settlers Days helps support those with disabilities through music
ROCKTON, Ill. (WTVO) — Old Settlers Days gave Rockton residents a night of summer fun, all while raising funds for those with disabilities.
'You're not just buying a ticket to go listen to a great concert or have the opportunity to have some food and go right on the rides, but you're benefiting the community,' said Lions Club Chair of Old Settlers Days, Carol Wright.
This year marks the 25th time the Rockton Lions Club has hosted the event.
The proceeds from the event go toward supporting those who are blind, deaf and have been diagnosed with diabetes.
For eventgoers, this is a time to spend time with friends and make new ones.
'This is the first time I actually came here with an actual friend,' said Zander Carrat. 'Usually, I come here and look for friends, but now my best friends join me today. I'm happy to be here.'
Old Settlers Days runs until June 15th this year.
Those who are interested in attending the music festival still have the chance to see Dylan Scott perform on June 14th and Chris Cagle on June 15th.
