UK: TotalEnergies Acquires a Pipeline of Solar and Battery Projects

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TotalEnergies (Paris:TTE) (LSE:TTE) (NYSE:TTE) announces the acquisition from Low Carbon, a leading renewable energy company, of a pipeline of 8 solar projects with a capacity of 350 MW and 2 battery storage projects with a capacity of 85 MW. As the solar projects are at an advanced stage of development, the target is that they could be operational by 2028. They will produce more than 350 GWh/year of renewable electricity, equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 100,000 UK households. 'We are very pleased with the acquisition of this pipeline from the renewable developer Low Carbon. The acquisition of these solar and battery projects located in the south of England will complement our integrated electricity portfolio in the UK, which includes 1.1 GW of gross installed offshore wind, 1.3 GW of gross combined cycle gas turbine, and more than 600 MW of solar projects under development', said Olivier Jouny, SVP renewables at TotalEnergies. Roy Bedlow, Chief Executive and Founder at Low Carbon, added: 'We are very pleased to have finalised this agreement with TotalEnergies, who are making an impressive commitment to building renewable infrastructure and sees Low Carbon deliver one of the largest ready-to-build portfolios of solar and battery projects in the UK market. Once built, these projects will make a vital contribution to the Government's Clean Power 2030 ambition and reinforce Low Carbon's track record for developing renewable assets of the highest quality, while supporting the build out of the rest of our renewables pipeline as we continue to scale as an independent power producer.' *** TotalEnergies in the UK TotalEnergies has been present in the UK for more than 60 years, employing more than 1,800 people across the energy value chain. TotalEnergies Launches its Largest Solar Power Plant in Europe

It was recently reported that TotalEnergies SE (NYSE:TTE) has inaugurated its largest solar power plant in Europe. Let's shed some light on the development. An industrial oil and gas plant, with stacks of pipes issuing steam into the sky. TotalEnergies SE (NYSE:TTE) revealed on May 22, 2025, that it has started up a cluster of five solar projects in Seville, Spain, with a total installed capacity of 263 MW, marking the French energy major's largest solar power plant cluster in Europe. The solar field will generate 515 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power more than 150,000 Spanish households, marking a key step forward in Spain's push toward 80% renewables by 2030. The company revealed that most of the electricity generated will be sold through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), while the remaining will be traded on the wholesale market. The Seville project, declared of strategic interest by the Andalusian government, included the installation of 400,000 bifacial solar panels equipped with sun-tracking systems, generated 800 direct and indirect jobs, and provided a significant economic boost to the local economy. Olivier Jouny, Senior Vice President Renewables at TotalEnergies SE (NYSE:TTE), stated: 'We warmly thank the Spanish authorities at both the regional and national levels for supporting this solar project that is contributing to Spain's ambition of 80% of renewables in its mix by 2030. With our 1,700 employees in Spain, we are building a competitive Integrated Power portfolio that combines renewables and flexible gas-fired power plants to deliver clean firm power to our customers. We are proud to be the 4th largest provider of electricity, gas, and related services in Spain, where we have more than 2 million residential and professional customers." TotalEnergies SE (NYSE:TTE) remains focused on expanding its portfolio beyond oil and gas, boasting 28 GW of gross installed renewable capacity worldwide, with a goal of reaching 35 GW by the end of 2025 and more than 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030.
