Olmsted County Fair hosting first STEM Day on Wednesday
Jul. 21—ROCHESTER — The Olmsted County Fair, which runs July 21 to 27, will include new activities, such as STEM Day and the Bucking Wild Big Hat Rodeo.
The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Day is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, in the Toyota Arena (Graham 4 building). The event will feature more than 16 hands-on activity stations hosted by local employers and organizations designed to encourage interest in STEM. Young learners will have the chance to explore real-world STEM careers, engage with interactive exhibits, and discover new educational opportunities, according to a statement announcing the event.
STEM Forward, a collaboration between schools, industries, nonprofits and community partners in Southeast Minnesota, is hosting the free, family-friendly event. There will also be resources for local camps, programs and family learning events.
The rodeo, which includes bull riding and high-speed barrel racing, is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Tickets for the rodeo can be purchased on the Olmsted County Fair website or at the gate.
