Dubai Leads Global Growth in Branded Residences as Buyers Seek Lifestyle, Wellness and Identity-Driven Living
Dubai, UAE – August 19, 2025 – As global demand for lifestyle-focused real estate continues to grow, Dubai is cementing its status as the world's leading market for branded residences. Currently home to 48,474 branded units across 144 projects – with 5,510 of those added in just the first half of 2025 – the city is outpacing traditional strongholds like Miami, New York, and London. This surge reflects a growing preference among buyers for homes that mirror their identities, support their lifestyles, and provide a sense of community. This growing demand is further reflected with these properties typically commanding a premium of 40 to 60 percent over unbranded luxury homes, demonstrating strong buyer appetite for developments that combine trusted brand affiliations with elevated, lifestyle-driven experiences. 'Today, a home is no longer just a physical asset; it's an extension of one's values and ambitions,' said Rui Liu, Chairman and Founder of LEOS Developments. The rise of branded residences in Dubai reflects a natural evolution of how people want to live, as we're seeing a shift from purely transactional buying to a more intentional kind of living, where wellbeing, community, and purpose carry just as much weight as location and square footage.' This shift is also ushering in a broader spectrum of brand collaborations, moving beyond hospitality and fashion labels to include names rooted in performance and purposeful design. Hadley Heights 2, a newly launched residential development by Leos Developments, introduces a distinctive brand collaboration with three-time Olympic gold medallist Tom Dean. Recognised as the world's first Olympic-branded residence, the project combines bold, aerodynamic architecture with next-generation wellness, performance, and digital innovation. It features a comprehensive suite of Olympic-grade amenities, including AI-powered gyms, rooftop running tracks, outdoor CrossFit zones, immersive sports simulators, wellness parks, and dedicated play areas for children – creating an environment that promotes active, balanced living for individuals and families alike. Situated in Dubai Sports City, the development also offers direct access to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and Hessa Street, while it is minutes away from Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and both international airports. The upcoming Yellow Metro Line is expected to enhance connectivity further, while the surrounding area includes international schools, golf courses, and elite training academies, making it a sought-after location for families and investors. As Dubai moves forward with its 2040 Urban Master Plan, branded residences are expected to play a central role in shaping the city's vision for sustainable, wellness-focused, and inclusive urban growth. With their unique ability to blend global brand credibility with tailored lifestyle offerings, developments like Hadley Heights 2 are not only setting new standards in design – they are redefining how people choose to live. City in pole position for CWG with eye on 2036 Olympics
Ahmedabad: Eight years after earning the Unesco tag as India's first World Heritage City, Ahmedabad is chasing another global title — host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games (CWG). On Wednesday, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), at its Special General Meeting, placed the city among the top contenders — a move widely seen as a dress rehearsal for the bigger prize: the 2036 Olympics. Ahmedabad's bid is anchored by the Rs 6,000-crore Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave — a 236-acre, Olympic-grade complex being developed through a state–AUDA public-private partnership. Scheduled for completion in 2029, it will feature the Narendra Modi Stadium (the world's largest cricket venue), a 50,000-seat football stadium, an 18,000-seat indoor arena, a 12,000-seat aquatics centre, an athletes' village, plus hotels and commercial hubs. Supporting facilities include the Naranpura Sports Complex and a network of mini-sports centres across city zones, with Rs 125 crore earmarked for grassroots infrastructure in Naroda, Ghuma, and beyond. A senior sports department official said Gujarat had conveyed its CWG intent to Chris Jenkins OBE, then president of Commonwealth Sport, during his Jan 2025 visit — a proposal later backed by the union ministry of youth affairs and sports. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If you have a mouse, play this game for 1 minute Navy Quest Undo You Can Also Check: Ahmedabad AQI | Weather in Ahmedabad | Bank Holidays in Ahmedabad | Public Holidays in Ahmedabad | Gold Rates Today in Ahmedabad | Silver Rates Today in Ahmedabad Infrastructure upgrades are keeping pace with the bid. The Rs 3,130-crore integrated terminal at Sardar Vallabhbhai International (SVPI) Airport — set to double passenger capacity before 2030 — aligns with CWG and Olympic timelines. Metro extensions, BRTS upgrades, and a multi-modal transport hub are also planned. The hospitality sector is expanding rapidly. The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) has cleared a 17-storey hotel and a Rs 792.5 crore Convention, Cultural and Business Centre near Paldi, while global hotel brands are increasing their presence along Sindhu Bhavan Road and in GIFT City. The city's confidence draws on its record of hosting marquee events — from the ICC World Cup final to Vibrant Gujarat Summits and the sold-out Coldplay concert in Jan 2025. Gujarat is also eyeing the 2027 Women's Volleyball World Championship and the World Military Games to further burnish its credentials. Officials said the plan is to stage a "full-fledged Games" featuring medal-rich sports like shooting, wrestling, and badminton, alongside indigenous disciplines such as kabaddi and kho kho. Ahmedabad's CWG blueprint takes cues from Birmingham 2022's cost-effective delivery and Euro 70-million local reinvestment, including a jobs and skills academy that trained over 20,000 people. The city's version will be guided by an Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) impact study to ensure transparency and sustainability. Commissioned by the Gujarat Sports Infrastructure Development Company (GSIDC Ltd), and to be conducted over the next six months, the studies aim to evaluate the potential impacts on Ahmedabad and Gujarat, ensuring alignment with global sustainability standards. The studies will focus on identifying and standardizing relevant environmental metrics, design of a stakeholder engagement framework for environmental assessment, and assessment of carbon emissions associated with the Games. Former triathlete Ingi Doyle lists luxury lakeside home
After suffering a life-threatening ruptured aorta in 2021, well-known, former triathlete Ingi Doyle knows all too well just how precious life is. It is this knowing that has led Doyle and her partner to put the stunning Sunshine Coast house they have called home for the past five years on the market. The couple bought the north-facing, four bedroom, waterfront home at 4 Buruwang Street, Birtinya, in 2020 for $1.1 million, records show. Listing agent Kristin Cowie from Ray White Mooloolaba says in light of Doyle's health issues the pair are now keen to do more "living." "They're going to downsize, and they're wanting to travel more and get the most out of life," Cowie explains. "Their children are also older now, so they don't need such a big home, as much as they love it," she says. Since moving into the two-storey waterfront home, which was designed by Christopher Design Architects and expertly built by Terry Bevis Homes, the pair have added their own touches to the expansive 370sqm residence. "They added the stunning spiral staircase, which has become a really cool feature of the home, and they also added all of those exterior elements, such as the Olympic-grade pool, spa and the sunken firepit perfect for those cooler winter nights," she adds. "Because of Ingi's fitness background, she sees the home as a bit of a wellness retreat, with the water views, the pool, spa and sauna. The home really reflects that active, healthy lifestyle that they value." A newly added steam room offers the opportunity to relax while enjoying uninterrupted lake views. While easy lake access makes it perfect for paddle-boarding, kayaking or simply soaking up the serene outlook. Cowie adds that the location and entertaining areas are also highlights of the light-filled home, which boasts soaring 2.7-metre ceilings to create a sense of space and luxury. Surrounding the outdoor pool and spa is an extensive and private entertaining deck featuring the sunken gas fire pit and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, ideal for hosting guests year-round. "The private aspect of the home and the outdoor entertaining area really are special," Cowie says. "Ingi likes to call it a hidden gem because you've got these incredible, north-facing water views but it is set back from the public walkway so it's really quite private, with only the one neighbour on one side," she says. The well thought out home features a contemporary kitchen and open plan living upstairs, and four luxury bedrooms, two bathrooms, a den and flexible indoor/outdoor entertainment spaces, downstairs. Cowie says buyer interest in the home has been so strong that the private sale campaign has been converted to an auction. "Because it is such a unique property and it is hard to find anything similar to compare it to, I ended up recommending we take it to auction," she says. The auction will be held on site on Saturday, July 26 at 3pm.

RI House to vote on assault weapons ban
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Gun rights legislation will go before the full House Thursday night for the first time since the debate began over a decade ago. This is the first time an assault weapon ban bill has made it out of the committee, after it passed 12-6 Tuesday night. While fully automatic weapons, such as machine guns, are already illegal in Rhode Island, the Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2025 (H5436) aims to prohibit the purchase, sale, manufacturing, and possession of certain weapons, including semi-automatic shotguns, rifles and pistols. A new 'grandfather clause' was added to the legislation, allowing Rhode Islanders who own assault-style weapons as of July 1, 2026, to legally keep them without having to register. What does RI's proposed assault weapons ban mean for current gun owners? Owners will have the option to voluntarily register their weapons with police to receive a certificate of possession. A previous version of the bill included mandatory registry, but that was scrapped after pushback from critics. The legislation also carves out exemptions for Olympic-grade pistols and does not apply to standard handguns, shotguns or hunting rifles. It's expected to pass the House but faces challenges in the Senate with a new president in place who will decide if it makes it to the Senate floor for a vote. The House session begins at 4 p.m., and the assault weapon ban bill is the last item on the agenda. Download the and apps to get breaking news and weather alerts. Watch or with the new .
