If SP understood real ABCD, it wouldn't be out of power: Rajbhar

Lucknow: State cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar launched a scathing counterattack to the (SP) chief 's recent 'ABCD' analogy to target the ruling BJP. Rajbhar asserted that during the SP's tenure, 'ABCD' stood for Araajakta (lawlessness), Bhrashtachar (corruption), Chori (theft), and Dalali (brokerage)—a reflection, he claimed, of the party's administrative failures. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "If the Samajwadi Party truly understood the real ABCD, it wouldn't be out of power today," he quipped. Reacting to police lodging a case against a local Saharanpur SP functionary for allegedly teaching kids "A for Akhilesh, D for Dimple" at a PDA pathshala he opened at his house recently, former UP CM had quipped that people in the state are being booked for teaching kids ABCD. Rajbhar claimed that government schools in the SP regime were plagued by the copying mafia and recruitment scams, with no significant infrastructure development. "Broken walls, collapsing roofs, filthy toilets, and falling student numbers—this was the true face of education back then," he said. He accused the SP of fostering instability, shielding criminals, and promoting favoritism. Extending the analogy further, Rajbhar added Y for Yadavism and Z for zero change, alleging that SP's policies were caste-driven, nepotistic, and chaotic. In contrast, Rajbhar highlighted the BJP government's "revolutionary" reforms in education. Under Operation Kayakalp, Rs 11,500 crore has been invested to upgrade facilities in over 96% of government schools. The 'School Chalo Abhiyan' reportedly enrolled over 27 lakh new students this year, signaling increased public confidence. Rajbhar emphasized that under the Yogi government, the education system has become more transparent and accountable. Citing the ASER 2024 and PARAKH survey reports, he noted that class 3 students in Uttar Pradesh are now performing above the national average. Taking a final swipe at the SP, Rajbhar said, "In their rule, the temples of learning crumbled; in ours, the lamps of knowledge were lit. Akhilesh Yadav shut schools, we opened new ones. They kept 3.45 crore children away from education—we brought them back to books and classrooms."

SBSP chief explores options for non-BJP front in Bihar polls

Lucknow: BJP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party has again started flexing its political muscles by indicating that it may form a third front with non-BJP parties to contest the Bihar elections. "We are keeping all options open in case our alliance with the BJP in Bihar does not happen," SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar told TOI on Saturday. Rajbhar, a minister in the Yogi cabinet, said his party is in talks with multiple smaller parties, including Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraaj Party and Mukesh Sahni's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Rajbhar said his party plans to contest at least 156 out of 243 assembly seats in Bihar. "It all depends on what and how the situation arises. We want to make our presence felt in Bihar where we have been active for the past many years," he said. Sources said Rajbhar has been bargaining hard with the BJP for a "respectable" number of seats in certain pockets of Siwan, Champaran, Saran, Gopalganj, and Buxar, which have a sizable presence of Rajbhar, Rajvanshi, Rajdhobi, and Bhar communities. The party also aims to consolidate castes like Patwa and Mandal. Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs) form a significant voting bloc in Bihar. According to an estimate, it is over 30% of the total electorate. Sources said Rajbhar has held meetings with the BJP brass, including home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda, in his bid to get some poll space in Bihar. Rajbhar exploring the option of a third front is a significant development. Experts said SBSP's chief action may be seen through the lens of coalition politics, electoral bargaining, and regional caste dynamics. They added that Rajbhar's political influence is rooted in OBC and Dalit mobilisation, primarily in eastern UP. His expansion in Bihar is seen as an attempt to replicate the model across the border. Sources said SBSP aims to consolidate non-dominant OBC groups, especially those feeling underrepresented by bigger players like RJD or JD(U). Rajbhar's plan to explore a new equation had its bit of strategic elements. Jan Suraaj Party offered a platform-driven movement with "clean governance" as its plank. Likewise, Sahni's VIP was another political group eyeing the non-Yadav OBC and Dalit vote bank. Experts said that the third front, if it materialises, might split the floating OBC/Dalit voters. This would not only help the BJP indirectly, but also hurt Lalu Prasad's RJD, which is eyeing a return to power. Will contest solo in Bihar if NDA talks collapse, says SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar

Synopsis SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar stated his party's readiness to contest the Bihar elections independently if seat-sharing talks with the BJP-led NDA fail. While 70% of discussions are complete, Rajbhar emphasized preparations for a solo run, actively working on 156 seats. He ruled out joining the INDIA bloc, hinting at forming a separate front. ANI Om Prakash Rajbhar Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar said that his party is ready to contest the upcoming Bihar elections independently if seat-sharing talks with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) don't work out. Speaking to reporters at his party's headquarters in Rasra, Ballia district, on Friday evening, the Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Rajbhar said, "Our first preference is to contest the elections in alliance with the NDA. Around 70 per cent of the discussions have been finalised, and 30 per cent is still pending." "However, we are also preparing for a second option. If, due to pressure from certain Bihar leaders, an agreement isn't reached, we are fully prepared to contest the elections independently," he said. Rajbhar made it clear that his party will not join the INDIA bloc. "Many parties are working outside the INDIA alliance, and talks are underway with some of them. If talks with the BJP do not succeed, we will form a separate front and contest elections. We are actively working on 156 seats," he added. Criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said, "When Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, he questions India's credibility and attacks the Election Commission. But when his party wins elections, he never raises such concerns. If he believes elections were rigged and victory came through manipulation, he should say so openly and provide evidence." He further alleged that Rahul Gandhi has already sensed defeat in Bihar, which is why "he has started making baseless statements, similar to those made by former PM VP Singh."

Rajbhar's Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party decides to contest Bihar election

The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) national president and Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Thursday (July 31, 2025) said that his party will contest the upcoming assembly elections of Bihar. Mr. Rajbhar also asserted that even if National Democratic Alliance (NDA) does not take him along, his party will show its strength in the assembly elections. The Uttar Pradesh based political party and leader was in Patna to take part in the workers' conference organized at the Bharatiya Mandapam Hall in which the party workers from different districts also attended the event. Mr. Rajbhar asserted that he is in talks with the NDA but if not given respectable seats then ready to go solo. 'The first attempt is to fight the Assembly elections in Bihar by staying with the NDA. Even if our talks don't work out, our party will contest the elections in Bihar on its own. People of castes like Rajbhar, Rajvanshi of the State will show the strength of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party in Bihar,' Mr. Rajbhar said. He further said, 'I had promised all of you that I will make an MLA from amongst you and send them to the assembly. I have to fulfil that promise. We are NDA partners and 70% of the talks have been finalised regarding contesting the elections. If our talks are finalised, then it is very good, otherwise the party is fully prepared to go solo in the Bihar elections.' He pointed out if party members leaders become a Minister or MLA then land will be given to the landless, along with this, one lakh rupees will also be given for marriage. 'On the land of Bihar, your MLA will raise the problems of your village, block, district,' Mr. Rajbhar added. Accompanied by Uday Narayan Rajbhar, Bihar State president of the party, he instructed the party workers to put up the party flag at their respective houses. Later while speaking to the media Mr. Rajbhar said that his party wants to contest in 29 Assembly seats and if not given then preparation is already going on in 156 seats out of 243 Assembly seats in Bihar. The two term MLA also took a dig at the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar alleging that not enough work has been done for the people of Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) in Bihar. SBSP's national general secretary and former Minister Dr Arvind Rajbhar said that whether in alliance or alone, elections have to be fought in Bihar. Mr. Arvind said that his party will put all its strength in the election campaign. National Spokesperson of the party, Piyush Mishra echoed the same saying that political parties of Bihar should not underestimate SBSP.
