APPSC recruitment 2025: Notification released for Forest Beat Officer posts, apply online from this date
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has officially announced the recruitment of Forest Beat Officers (FBO) and Assistant Beat Officers (ABO) under the Andhra Pradesh Forest Subordinate Service. As per Notification No. 06/2025, a total of 691 vacancies (256 FBO + 435 ABO) are available, including posts reserved for Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP). Interested candidates can apply online through from July 16, 2025, until August 5, 2025 (11:59 PM). APPSC FBO and ABO Vacancy Details The APPSC recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 691 posts, including 256 Forest Beat Officers (FBO) and 435 Assistant Beat Officers (ABO) under the Andhra Pradesh Forest Subordinate Service. To be eligible, candidates must have passed the Intermediate Examination (Class 12) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board. The age limit is set between 18 to 30 years as of July 1, 2025. Relaxations in the upper age limit are applicable for reserved categories, as per government norms. The recruitment process includes a Screening Test (if applicants exceed 200 times the vacancies), followed by an objective-type Main Examination. Qualified candidates must then clear Physical Tests, including a walking endurance test and medical exam. Finally, candidates must pass a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) to be eligible for final selection. The dates for the screening and main exams will be announced separately. SC applicants told to incorporate sub-group in APPSC website
The government of Andhra Pradesh has issued orders for implementation of sub-classification of Scheduled Castes (SCs) into three groups — Group-I, Group-II and Group- III. In view of the above, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has requested the SC candidates who already have One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) to incorporate their group of the Scheduled Caste in the OTPR through the commission's website as it is mandatory for submitting online application to the direct recruitments of ensuing notifications. In a separate statement, the commission Secretary P. Raja Babu said that the screening test in offline mode for Forest Beat Officer and Assistant Beat Officer (691 vacancies minus MSP vacancies) and Forest Section Officer (100 vacancies minus MSP vacancies) is proposed to be held after July 15, 2025. The syllabus for the screening test is available on the commission's website, said Mr. Raja Babu, adding that detailed notifications and dates will be given later.
