Carlos Santana recovering after collapse, postpones Sugar Land concert
Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana has been released from the hospital following a sudden medical emergency but is still recovering and unable to return to the stage just yet. The 77-year-old musician was hospitalized after collapsing during a sound check on Tuesday, April 22, in San Antonio, Texas. According to Santana's representative, the cause of the incident was dehydration. He has since been discharged and is currently resting in a hotel. However, as a precaution, Santana's scheduled performance for Wednesday night at the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land, Texas, has been officially postponed. The Sugar Land concert marks the second show affected on his ongoing 'Oneness' tour, following the postponement of Tuesday night's appearance at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio. Santana also has upcoming concerts slated for Friday and Saturday in Oklahoma, but it remains uncertain whether those performances will go on as planned. 'Carlos is expected to be fine,' his rep shared, 'but we are prioritizing his full recovery before he returns to the stage.' The 'Oneness' tour has drawn fans from across the country, eager to see the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Famer perform live. With decades of music under his belt and a legacy of hits, Santana's well-being has been a major concern among his fans. Further updates on Santana's tour status are expected in the coming days as he continues his recovery.

Carlos Santana Hospitalized After Suffering Medical Emergency During Soundcheck
The post Carlos Santana Hospitalized After Suffering Medical Emergency During Soundcheck appeared first on Consequence. Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana was hospitalized after experiencing a medical emergency during the soundcheck prior to a concert at San Antonio's Majestic Theatre on Tuesday (April 22nd). According to his manager, doctors later determined that the 77-year-old musician was suffering from dehydration. The San Antonio show was postponed, but Santana's spring US tour is expected to continue as scheduled, resuming Wednesday night (April 23rd) in Sugar Land, Texas. Get Santana Tickets Here 'Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action,' manager Michael Vrionis stated. 'He is doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour. Thank you all very much for your understanding. The show will be rescheduled soon.' Back in July 2022, Santana canceled a handful of shows after collapsing onstage due to heat exhaustion and dehydration. Earlier this year, he postponed several dates of his Las Vegas residency after breaking his finger in a fall at his vacation home in Hawaii. Prior to Tuesday night's postponement, Santana had played three shows with his eponymous band on the brief spring US tour. The outing is slated to run through an April 29th show in Nashville, leading up to an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 1st. Santana, who just landed at No. 16 on Consequence's list of the 100 Best Guitarists of All Time, will then resume his Vegas residency on May 14th, playing Sin City until May 25th, before embarking on a summer UK/European tour on June 9th. He'll then return to Vegas for more residency shows in September and November. Tickets to Santana's upcoming shows can be purchased here. The guitar icon and his band are in the midst of his ongoing 'Oneness' tour, which Consequence caught last summer at Jones Beach, New York. Read our review here, and see our photos below.
