Platonic Sets Season 2 Premiere Date — Apple TV+ Teaser Urges Fans to ‘Keep an Eye Out' for New Episodes
Apple TV+ just can't quit Seth Rogen. On the eve of The Studio finale, the streamer has announced that Season 2 of Platonic will premiere Wednesday, Aug. 6 — more than two full years after the release of its Season 1 finale. Two episodes will drop on premiere day, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through Oct. 1, for a total of 10 episodes. 'The duo tries their best to be each other's rock — but sometimes rocks break things.' In addition to the aforementioned duo, who reprise their roles as BFFs Will and Sylvia, the Season 2 ensemble includes fellow returnees Luke Macfarlane (as Sylvia's husband Charlie) and Carla Gallo (as Katie), while Saturday Night Live trio Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett guest-star in undisclosed roles. Apple TV+ has also released a teaser trailer, which reunites Rogen with fellow Freaks and Geeks vet Sam McMurray — FKA Vic Schweiber: Platonic's series premiere earned a TVLine reader grade of 'B-.' The Season 1 finale, which was released July 12, 2023, featured a one-year time jump, at which point Will's fiancée Jenna (Rachel Rosenbloom) enlisted Sylvia to be their wedding planner. Station 19 Stars Divulge the #Marina Stories They Never Got to Tell
When Grey's Anatomy spinoff Station 19 aired its series finale six months ago, co-stars Danielle Savre and Stefania Spampinato were no readier to say goodbye to Maya and Carina than #Marina shippers were. (And we weren't ready at all.) 'There was so much more story to tell with [them],' Savre tells Entertainment Weekly. Such as? The challenges Maya would have faced in raising a family at the same time as she's fighting fires. 'We knew when we did those flash-forwards that Maya carried one of their children,' Savre notes. So 'it would have been nice to see how she was able to be pregnant and still be a firefighter. I would have loved to have seen Maya [tackle] that.' Spampinato goes back even further for storyline inspiration. 'Carina came into [Grey's Anatomy] with this study about female sexuality, and I would love to see her almost come full circle with that and teach sex education to younger adults,' she says. 'To still feel like [she's] contributing to society in a different way, geared to young adults since she now has kids. 'Also, they say relationships after seven years go through a little struggle,' she continues. 'I would have loved to see the seventh year of their relationship and see how they pulled through that.'
