On Wednesday, the show's official social media account shared a humorous video featuring the beloved trio and revealed the season 5 release date. The iconic sleuths are once again set to reunite and unravel another murder mystery in the Arconia.

The fifth season of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building is set to premiere on September 9, 2025. In India, viewers can catch the show on JioCinema. The first three episodes will drop on the premiere date, with the remaining episodes releasing weekly.
A recent promo showcased the lead trio's signature comedic charm. As Selena Gomez flawlessly delivers her lines, Steve Martin unexpectedly bursts into laughter while attempting to say his own name. 'Why are you laughing at me?" Selena asks, to which Martin replies that he's struggling to remember who he is — prompting Martin Short to quip, 'What, life?" The playful banter nearly derails the announcement before they finally confirm the show's return on September 9.
Only Murders In The Building 5 Synopsis
The fifth season of Only Murders in the Building takes the trio into new territory, putting their amateur detective skills to the test. The death of Lester (played by Teddy Coluca), the doorman, generates suspicion and motivates Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short), and Mabel (Gomez) to act. Their investigation takes them through the back alleys of New York City and beyond, where they discover a hidden web of secrets linked to ruthless billionaires, old-school mobsters, and mysterious Arconia residents.
Apart from the trio, the cast of the fifth season includes Michael Cyril Creighton with returning actors Meryl Streep, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, and Nathan Lane. Other new guest stars are Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, and Jermaine Fowler.
The sitcom has been nominated for Best Comedy Series and the main leads for acting prizes at the 77th Emmy Awards, which will take place in September. One of the episodes, My Best Friend's Wedding, has received nominations for both directing and writing.
