Britney Spears Reaches A Major Milestone For The First Time In Her Career
Britney Spears hasn't released new music in years, and fans aren't expecting anything to drop anytime soon, but she still managed to have an exciting week on the charts in the United Kingdom. As one of her earliest albums returns, the singer also reaches a lofty landmark figure for the very first time, proving that her catalog remains hugely popular, even if her career is essentially inactive. Spears keeps The Singles Collection, a compilation of many of her most famous tunes, on two charts across the Atlantic. At the moment, it rises on both the Official Albums Streaming and Official Albums rankings, pushing to Nos. 53 and 64, respectively. The Singles Collection reaches 200 weeks on the Official Albums chart, the ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. The tally is compiled by the Official Charts Company, using a methodology that blends both sales and streaming activity to reflect what the nation is listening to. The compilation is the first from Spears to spend 200 frames on the competitive roster. Only one other project by Spears has managed to rack up triple-digit stays on the Official Albums chart, and it' One More Time. Her debut full-length peaked at No. 2, and it's just one frame away from hitting two full years — or 104 weeks — on the tally. Her follow-up, Oops!... I Did It Again, which also stalled in the runner-up spot, has managed 53 turns, or just over one year, on the same list. Speaking of Oops!... I Did It Again, that project can also be found on two tallies — but not the same two as The Singles Collection. The sophomore studio effort from Spears reenters the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 83, and it also manages to debut on the Official Albums Downloads list at No. 41, reaching that tally a quarter century after it was first released. Oops!... I Did It Again was recently reissued to celebrate its milestone twenty-fifth birthday. The project, which was offered digitally and on physical formats, includes special goodies like remixes and other recordings, as well as photos and special colored vinyl for those who wanted to own the set on wax.

‘The flight attendant didn't like me the moment I got on the plane' — Britney Spears met by police after she tried to light up a cigarette on US flight
The 43-year-old pop star was on board a private jet flying from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to LAX when she took out and lit a cigarette while still in the air, multiple sources told TMZ. According to the tabloid, flight attendants were 'alarmed and ordered her to put out the cigarette'. Though she complied, she was reportedly 'difficult'. When Spears landed, authorities were reportedly on the ground waiting for her. After they 'warned' her about her conduct, she was free to leave. The Womanizer singer has since apologised for her behaviour, writing in an Instagram post: 'I do so apologise to anyone I offended, but the flight attendants always make sure I'm way at the back of plane anyways.' Spears admitted that she initially thought the officials were there to greet 'me as support. I was like, 'WOW I feel special'.' 'The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette !!!' Spears added. 'And embarrass me which jeez I thought was kinda much but she didn't like me the moment I got on plane.' In December 2024, the Oops!...I Did It Again singer claimed she was moving to Mexico because of the way the paparazzi were treating her. 'It really kind of hurts my feelings,' she said in an Instagram video. 'The paparazzi make my face look like I'm wearing, like a white Jason mask. It doesn't even look like me.' Days after her declaration, however, a source confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she had not actually moved. Spears, who was freed in 2021 from a 13-year-long court-mandated conservatorship, has since consistently posted clips on Instagram of her dancing, sometimes in risque clothing. ADVERTISEMENT In September 2023, she sparked worry with one of her dancing videos that showed her twirling what appeared to be kitchen knives in her hands. 'I started playing in the kitchen with knives today,' she wrote in the caption. Not long after, authorities conducted a wellness check on Spears due to overwhelming fan concern. The Toxic artist then amended her caption, to add: 'Don't worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon!!!' A week later, Spears posted a second video of her dancing with the prop knives. 'I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives,' she wrote. 'No one needs to worry or call the police. I'm trying to imitate one of my favorite [sic] performers Shakira… a performance I was inspired by!!! Cheers to us bad girls who aren't afraid to push boundaries and take risks.'

Oops! Britney Spears Caught Smoking Mid-Flight, Reacts After Getting Warning from Authorities
Pop princess Britney Spears has reacted to reports of an unruly incident inside an airplane during her flight from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles on May 23. Spears has made headlines again after allegedly getting caught smoking and drinking mid-flight. According to TMZ, Spears reportedly started drinking and tried to light a cigarette on board the semi-private JetSuiteX flight. Flight attendants acted swiftly and asked her to extinguish the cigarette. The Oops!... I Did It Again singer looked back at the flight and said that it was her initial consumption of vodka, which made her extremely clear-headed. She added that she was confused about smoking policies aboard, assuming that it was allowed due to the plane's layout and the fact that a friend had lit up a cigarette on her behalf. Although the Los Angeles Airport Police denied involvement, U.S. Customs officials reportedly took charge of the incident. JetSuiteX officials refused to comment on the incident. Spears then posted her account of the experience on social media. "Me yesterday !!! It's actually incredibly funny !!! Some planes I've been on you can't smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!! Confession it was my first time drinking VODKA!!! I swear I felt so SMART," she wrote on Instagram. Spears admitted the incident and apologized to anyone she might have offended. She explained that she misinterpreted the officials being at the airport as a demonstration of support. She also described her discomfort with the manner in which a flight attendant acted towards her. Spears added, "The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette!!! And embarrass me which jeez I thought was kinda much but she didn't like me the moment I got on plane!!! Nobody was on the plane for first 20 minutes and she wouldn't let me get out of my seat I wanted to stand up!!! She acted so weird about making sure I sat down and it was weird!!! I didn't like the way she put the seatbelt on me and invaded my space!!!" After landing at LAX, authorities met with the Toxic hitmaker and gave her a warning for her actions. She was not arrested and was free to leave shortly. Sources described Britney Spears as being uncooperative on board the flight, with staff expressing concern. She ended her statement by turning everyone's attention to her next fashion venture, showing enthusiasm for a new accessories line.

Cassie Ventura testifies about how Diddy brought Britney Spears to her 21st birthday party
Cassie Ventura testified that Sean 'Diddy' Combs brought pop star Britney Spears to her 21st birthday party — where Cassie said she first kissed the rap mogul and their relationship began. Ventura, now 38, told jurors during the trial for Diddy that Combs invited the 'Oops!...I Did It Again' singer to her birthday bash at a club in Las Vegas, the New York Post reported. The music mogul also invited singer and music producer Dallas Austin, who was included on a list of celebrities given to potential jurors before his sex trafficking trial began in Manhattan. 'Sean was there and he brought Dallas Austin, Britney Spears,' Ventura testified. 'I think those were the two people that stand out to me.' Ventura previously stated that up until her 21st birthday, Combs was just her music producer. However, the then 38-year-old kissed Ventura, who is 17 years his junior, at the event and the relationship began to turn romantic, she testified. Ventura returned to the stand Thursday for cross-examination after a bombshell day of testimony accusing Sean 'Diddy' Combs of rape, blackmail, sexual degradation and physical abuse. The R&B singer and model previously detailed the graphic 'freak offs' she participated in throughout the course of her decade-long relationship with Combs. Ventura told jurors she went along with the alleged sex parties because she was afraid he would hurt her or release footage of the encounters. Now, Combs' defense team is cross-examining Ventura, and showing jurors an April 2009 text Ventura sent Combs telling him she's 'always ready to 'freak off.'' Ventura, however, has said these 'freak-offs' involved her having sex with other men at Combs's direction, often after taking drugs. The star witness, who is eight months pregnant, testified that Combs showed up at her home and raped her after they broke up in 2018. The star witness also revealed that she sued Combs in November 2023, and that he settled the lawsuit for $20 million a day later. Much of the jury remained stony-faced and silent as it was shown images taken from a video of one of Combs' alleged freak-offs. Ventura also told the court that the freak-offs videos were 'blackmail materials' that Combs threatened to release to humiliate her. Prosecutors showed several photos depicting bruises on Ventura's face and body, which were sustained, she said, in beatings that happened 'too frequently.' Combs is facing sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy charges. Combs was arrested in September 2024 as federal authorities alleged he threatened, abused, and coerced victims 'to fulfill his sexual desires' between 2004 and 2024. He has denied any accusations of wrongdoing. This is a developing story...

Who is Benito Skinner? Get to know the 'Overcompensating' star
With his new comedy Overcompensating coming out this month, it's time for audiences to get to know comedian and actor Benito Skinner, also known as Benny Drama on social media! Overcompensating is poised to be one of the breakout comedy hits of the year, with its unapologetic point of view, terrifically smart sense of humor, and relatability. Oh, and don't forget about a killer cast! Learn more about Benito Skinner — and make sure to watch when it premieres May 15 on Prime Video. Benito Skinner was born on November 3, 1993. He is 31 of this writing, and will turn 32 later this year. Benito Skinner's boyfriend is Terrence O'Connor, who works as a photographer and creative director. Some of O'Connor's recent posts include Skinner as they celebrated birthdays, holidays, and New Year's Eve — and the couple is also known for having (very elaborate) matching Halloween costumes. In November 2021, Benito and Skinner revealed on Interview Magazine that they had been together since 2016. For many years, Skinner was best known for his social media username, Benny Drama. Even as Overcompensating premieres, the actor and comedian's Instagram handle is still @bennydrama7. Skinner was born in Boise, Idaho, and attended a Catholic high school, Bishop Kelly High School, where he played football. "I didn't go full method, but I definitely had a deeper voice,' he told The Guardian. 'Sometimes I'll watch my older videos and be like: 'Oh, that's not your voice, that's about 12 octaves too deep, babes.' I did it for so long." He left his home state and went to college at Georgetown in Washington, DC. Moving away from home allowed him to come out in his senior year of college. As a kid, Skinner would perform songs like "Oops!... I Did It Again" and "Stronger" by Britney Spears and "Survivor" by Destiny's Child for his family. "When the 'Oops!... I Did It Again' video came out, I learned all the dance moves, including that middle interlude where she talks about the lady jumping in the ocean — I had that whole scene memorized," he told Paper. "I'd perform it for my whole family wearing a bucket hat and a vest — a whole look." In college, after he came out, he started writing sketches. When he was closeted, he felt like expressing his love for performing might've outed him. "I've always loved performing, acting, doing impressions, and entertaining people. But then I definitely started getting made fun for it, so I sort of hid it away. I just locked that shit up for most of my young life, which was really sad," he said to Paper, adding, "I knew I wanted to do something in film, but I was too scared to be in front of the camera, because I was like, "'The internet's gonna say I'm gay.'" Eventually, Skinner started posting videos on social media like Instagram, where he would play original characters, like Jenni the TMI Hairdresser, and other times he would do celebrity impressions of people like Billie Eilish and Kim Kardashian. His impressions and original characters caught a lot of attention on the internet, often going viral. He eventually built up an audience of 1.3 million Instagram followers, including celebrities like Dua Lipa and Madonna. Skinner made his television acting debut in 2019 in the series Hitbox, followed by appearances in Search Party, the Queer as Folk reboot, Chelsea Peretti's movie First Time Female Director, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the film Idiotka. - YouTube Overcompensating is loosely based on Skinner's own experience as a college freshman. In it, he stars as Benny, who was a closeted football-playing homecoming king at his Idaho high school before moving away to go to college. Now in his freshman year of college, he is trying to figure out who he wants to be, and if that includes coming out or staying closeted. Overcompensating is a hilarious, unapologetically queer, unapologetically horny, and pleasantly heartwarming comedy starring Skinner, Wally Baram, Mary Beth Barone, Adam DiMarco, and Rish Shah. It also features recurring and guest stars like Connie Britton, Kyle MacLachlan, Charli XCX, Kaia Gerber, Megan Fox, and James Van Der Beek, to name a few.
