Britney Spears apologizes for smoking on plane, claims ‘weird' flight attendant tried to ‘embarrass' her

Britney Spears is sorry to those she 'offended' by smoking on a charter plane recently, but claims she is not responsible for lighting up in the first place. 'My friend put it in my mouth and lit it up for me so I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE !!!' the pop superstar, 43, wrote via Instagram on Friday alongside a video of her in the jet. 'I do so apologize to anyone I offended but the flight attendants always make sure I'm way at the back of plane anyways !!!' Spears brushed off the matter as 'actually incredibly funny' in the social media post and shared she had been on planes where smoking is prohibited but thought this one was different 'because the drink holders were on [the] outside of [the] seat.' The 'Oops! … I Did It Again' singer also confessed to drinking alcohol on her flight from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to LAX Airport, as sources told TMZ, but claimed it had been her 'first time drinking VODKA!!!' 'I swear I felt so SMART !!! I was like wow what the heck is in there !!! I felt so clear and smart !!! And said I want a cigarette so bad !!!' she added. Per TMZ's report, flight attendants thought Spears was acting 'difficult' — even though she put out the cigarette when they asked her to — so the authorities were called to meet them when they deplaned. 'I thought officials greeted me as support and I was like WOW I feel special !!! I've never been to an international airport !!! Am I famous or something ???' the 'Piece of Me' singer joked. 'The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette !!! And embarrass me which jeez I thought was kinda much but she didn't like me the moment I got on plane !!!' Spears then claimed that one flight attendant in particular had been giving her a hard time, and 'wouldn't let [her] get out of [her] seat' to stand up, despite no one else being on the plane for the first 20 minutes. 'She acted so weird about making sure I sat down and it was weird !!! I didn't like the way she put the seatbelt on me and invaded my space !!!' the 'Gimme More' singer said. Spears concluded her post by referencing her jewelry, asking fans, 'Oh well you guys like my flower choker ??? B tiny is coming soon and thats something we have added !!! It's honestly adorable !!!' Once the 'Toxic' singer got off of the plane, a customs employee reportedly let her go with a warning. A rep for JSX, the public charter operator for the plane, previously told Page Six, 'We have no comment regarding the alleged events described by TMZ.' Spears' reps could not be reached for comment.

Chappell Roan reveals her 'first kiss' and how 'kissing girls' is better

Chappell Roan says "kissing girls is funner" than locking lips with men. The 27-year-pop star has recalled her first kiss when she was a teenager, and admitted she made "the first move" in front of her family home. She told W Magazine: "[It was] in my parents' driveway. I was 15. I made the move. I usually make the first move! "We had been seeing each other, going on dates every weekend for a month, and I was like, it's time to kiss. "It was fun. But I would say that kissing girls is funner." It's not the only milestone for the 'Hot To Go' hitmaker, as she can also remember on the first song she sang. She added: ''Oops!… I Did It Again', by Britney Spears. "My mother took me out of gymnastics because I did the Britney dances instead of listening to the gymnastics teacher. "I also sang, 'Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.' " When it comes to her love life, Chappell recently revealed she is in a "serious" relationship with someone she was previously involved with before her rise to fame. Asked if she is single during an appearance on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast in March, she said: "No", and added she has been in a relationship for "six months". She was then asked if the romance is "casual" and replied: "No, it's serious. I'm very in love, but I am pro-single. "Everyone should be single, I'm serious. Be single. Stop dating. Be single. Have a great time alone. Find out for yourself if you can one hundred per cent be okay alone before you date. "That's what I found out. I had a great time when I was single, and I know that I'll be okay, and now I have an awesome time that I'm with someone." Chappell went on to explain that her relationship came about after the pair was set up by a mutual friend. She explained: "I'm usually the one who makes – like in every circumstance – I make the first move,. "I haven't dated someone since this all really, really blew up. I'm dating the same person that I was dating before I like blew up, so I'm not sure how I would date now. "I think it would actually be a nightmare. I think I would be so single right now because you're terrified of their intentions. I'm scared. I'm scared. "I don't trust anyone. I just think in my head, I'm like, any new person that I'm texting, I'm like: 'I'm assuming they will screenshot this and send it to someone else.' "

Chappell Roan doesn't want to listen to her own music

Los Angeles: Singer-songwriter Chappell Roan has shared that she doesn't like to listen to her own music. The 27-year-old singer has enjoyed massive success in the industry since the release of her album 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess' in late 2023. However, she is not in favor of consuming and enjoying her own work once she has released it, reports 'Female First UK'. She told W! Magazine: "I think it was in an Uber when I was on tour . I heard 'Good Luck, Babe' (on the radio). I grabbed my friend's hand and I was like, 'Oh my f******.…' But I didn't scream. I don't sing along with myself. I never listen to my own music. If it's out, I don't want to hear it. I've heard it hundreds and hundreds of times'. As per 'Female First UK', the Grammy Award-winning star was then asked about the first song she remembers performing and revealed it was the Britney Spears classic 'Oops! I Did It Again' but recalled that her mother had to take her out of the gymnastics class she attended because she would try to imitate the official choreography rather than focus on the lesson. She said, "'Oops!…I Did It Again,' by Britney Spears. My mother took me out of gymnastics because I did the Britney dances instead of listening to the gymnastics teacher. I also sang, 'Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so''. Meanwhile, the 'Pink Pony Club' hitmaker decided to explore the country genre with her latest single 'The Giver' and listed off a number of music icons that she took inspiration from as she switched things up from her usual pop style. She said, "I love country music. I listened to a lot of George Strait, Dwight Yoakam, and Dolly Parton. And I love Shania Twain so much. I just love campy country songs. I heard them on the bus every morning or at football games: It was country being played over the big speakers. I think country is the campiest music! And so is metal'.

Christina Aguilera's Stripped retrospectively reviewed: The most drastic, effective reinvention in pop

At the turn of the millennium, teen pop was dominating the charts like never before. The sugary-sweet sounds of hits like Britney Spears's 'Oops!… I Did It Again' and *NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye' were in. It was bubblegum pop with added E numbers. Christina Aguilera's 1999 self-titled debut was an example of this, launching the Disney alumnus onto the world stage with 'Genie in a Bottle' and 'What a Girl Wants'. She established herself among the likes of Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore as a new teen idol, all of whom were being moulded to Britney's girl-next-door image. It was these comparisons that made Aguilera want to break away from her contemporaries and showcase her true identity on Stripped. It was Aguilera's fourth overall studio album, but second English-speaking, non-Christmas effort. Lead single 'Dirrty' featuring Redman was the general public's first proper re-introduction to 'the new Xtina'. Gone was her cookie-cutter, virginal image in favour of an edgier, more original look and sound. It was a shock and largely criticised; misogyny in the media was at fever pitch during the early 2000s. However, the single and accompanying music video was, and still is, a thrilling piece of pop. It's arguably the most drastic and effective reinvention in pop, long before Miley Cyrus ditched her good girl image for Bangerz. Lyrically, the track is a sexually charged romp with hard hip-hop sensibilities. It flopped in the US, reaching number 48, but hit number one in the UK and the top 10 in several other countries. To this day, it's guaranteed to get any party started. Follow-up single 'Beautiful' couldn't have been more different, however. The tender piano ballad is a defiant statement for self-empowerment: 'You are beautiful no matter what they say'. Written by 4 Non Blondes's Linda Perry, the track was immediately adopted as a queer anthem. The accompanying music video also reflects this, featuring a same-sex couple and a transgender woman overcoming adversity and self-doubt to live authentically. While accepting the Special Recognition Award at the 14th GLAAD Media Awards, Aguilera said of 'Beautiful': 'This song is definitely a universal message that everybody can relate to — anyone that's been discriminated against or unaccepted, unappreciated or disrespected just because of who you are. It was so important to me that I support the gay community in this sense.' It has become one of the singer's signature tracks. 'Fighter' continues the theme of self-reliance, this time in a toxic relationship. Aguilera adopts a different sound yet again, this time taking inspiration from Guns N' Roses and stadium rock. It's a biting 'fuck you' to a cheating lover and an ode to the strength that comes from walking away. The album's lead single had been something of a red herring. While the album did speak of sexual liberation, the title Stripped speaks more to the baring of Aguilera's soul — as the latter singles demonstrated. This misconception perhaps muddied the understanding of what the singer was trying to achieve at this particular point in her career. On tracks like 'The Voice Within' and 'I'm OK', Aguilera is at her most introspective and vulnerable. It's these expressions of feeling like an outsider or facing trauma that helped Aguilera connect with her LGBTQ+ fanbase on a meaningful level. Despite being a pop pin-up, she felt just as insecure as the rest of us. Stripped stands up as Aguilera's most cohesive body of work and one of her most commercially successful. The album hit number two in the UK and US and top 10 in most of the world. In 2022, it was certified 5x Platinum. She would continue to have success in music, with hits such as 'Ain't No Other Man' and the cult classic 'Not Myself Tonight'. Aguilera would also appear alongside fellow gay icon Cher in the 2010 movie Burlesque. Aguilera has continued to show unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community throughout her career. Following the tragic Pulse nightclub shooting in 2016, the singer released the one-off single 'Change', dedicated to the victims. Proceeds from it were also donated to the victims' families. Speaking to the US's She Magazine in 2012, Aguilera said of her queer fanbase: 'I cannot express in words how much the LGBT community means to me. On my darkest day, their support lifts me up. I feel honoured that some of my songs become anthems to them as well.'
