Fewer fatalities recorded during Op Lancar Aidiladha 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Police recorded a slight increase in accident cases but fewer fatalities during Op Lancar Aidiladha 2025, held in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
Federal Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said a total of 6,369 accident cases were reported during the four-day operation, held from June 6 to 9, an increase of three per cent compared to the 6,188 cases reported during the same period last year.
He said there were 58 fatal accidents involving 78 deaths reported during this year's operation.
"This marks a decrease of 26 fatal accidents compared to the 84 cases involving 88 deaths reported in 2024," he said in a statement today.
Accidents involving vehicle damage also increased, with 6,120 cases reported compared to 5,854 last year, an increase of 266 cases.
