Two Terrorists Killed In Indian Army's Operation Shivshakti Days After Operation Mahadev

The Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt by two suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir. Both terrorists were neutralized, and weapons were recovered.
Days after successfully killing three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam horror, the Indian Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration attempt by two suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in an operation codenamed Operation Shivshakti.
The Army gunned down the two suspected LeT terrorists during an encounter along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch in the morning.
'In a successful anti-infiltration operation, alert troops of the Indian Army eliminated two terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control. Swift action and accurate firepower thwarted the nefarious designs. Three weapons have been recovered," read the official statement by the White Knight Corps on X.
The encounter followed credible intelligence inputs regarding a possible infiltration attempt. It is learnt that troops on ambush duty spotted suspicious movement in the Maldivalan area late on Tuesday night. When challenged, the infiltrators opened fire, prompting the Army to retaliate which triggered a gunfight that continued for several hours. Both terrorists were ultimately neutralised.
The security forces have recovered several weapons from the possession, including two assault rifles with ammunition, one pistol with ammunition, hand grenades, two Improvised explosive devices, medicines, communication device and other logistic stores.

This anti-terror operation underlines high level of synergy, coordination and commitment on part of Indian Army and other security agencies towards maintaining peace and security in the region.
'Op ShivShakti is a major setback to nefarious designs of Pakistan sponsored terrorist organisations that are constantly abetting acts of terror in Jammu & Kashmir region. Search operation is in progress in the surrounding areas to rule out the presence of any more terrorists in the area," the press release further read.
