"No physical injuries were reported. RMAF has started a thorough investigation to ensure the continued safety of all Hawk jets in service," he said after officiating Boustead Plantations Bhd's Projek Jana Veteran in Telok Sengat here today. He said the duration of the investigation would depend on the air force's internal assessments. The RMAF earlier confirmed the incident occurred at 5pm during a landing exercise as part of the 'Opening Gambit' training ahead of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (Lima '25). The fighter jet's nose landing gear reportedly malfunctioned during touchdown, but the pilot escaped unhurt.
