ARTPORT free exhibit, reopens after 10-year hiatus
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Following a 10-year hiatus, Shreveport Regional Airport is reopening ARTPORT and hosting a free exhibition of original work featuring 80 local and regional artists.
'Experience an immersive evening filled with captivating art, live entertainment by Windstorm, and a vibrant atmosphere,' describes Shreveport Regional Airport.
June 5, ARTPORT's grand opening is open to the public. Guests can participate in ARTPORT's silent auction, view several installments, and even purchase print reproductions from select artists, making it a night to remember for all art and Shreveport enthusiasts.
BLOOM Local gallery features art from 29 states, 22 countries
The 2025 gallery will showcase a variety of artistic mediums, with the theme 'In Southern Dimension' highlighting Shreveport's vibrant cultural heritage, cityscapes, unique festivals, and military history.
Since its inception, Artport's Opening Night Silent Auction has raised over $135,000 for various nonprofit organizations. This year's beneficiary is Volunteers for Youth Justice.
The exhibit begins at 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
ARTPORT's website shows that the exhibit will feature digital media installations with periodic guided tours, sculptures, and murals parallel to the large-format canvases. Visitors can view these pieces on Opening Night through the guided tour and via video compilation on the first floor.
ARTPORT was established in 1990 through a partnership between the Shreveport Regional Airport and KSM Marketing Agency.
